The DBA is responsible for the database design/development and database administration of SLS databases used by SLS associates, customers and investors. Associates in this position are responsible for the data architecture necessary to support the corporate data environment. The DBA will design and develop applications in a Microsoft development environment and will be responsible for adhering to current SLS development procedures and techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform SQL Server database administration tasks, including, but not limited to: Create/manage database maintenance and backup processes, manage user/object security, create scripts to maintain database objects, implement and optimize DTS packages, Design, develop, test and implement SQL Server applications (and web-based development) utilizing corporate standard development procedures and techniques, that support the requirements defined by users and analysts. Work collaboratively with team members and business partners in defining, designing, developing and implementing technology solutions to improve business functions. Analyze database applications/queries and implement improvements to optimize performance. Develop system documentation for all developed applications, including flowcharts. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of development and production environments. Participate in the planning and implementation of projects, which includes the design and execution of acceptance test plans to ensure a successful implementation. Understand the total corporate IT computing environment and daily operations and understand the impact of planned changes. Provide production support including limited on-call.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•4+ years experience as a SQL Server DBA and database development and optimization.
•4+ years experience with developing SQL Server applications and optimization.
•4+ years experience with SQL coding including DDL, DML, stored procedures, DTS, triggers and query tuning.
•Demonstrated experience with web development utilizing ASP.Net, VB.Net, ASP, VB Script, Javascript, HTML, XML, cascading stylesheets a plus.
•Experience with other Microsoft languages and technologies.
•Demonstrated experience with adhering to usability, design and development standards.
•Demonstrated experience with all aspects of unit testing, performance testing and user acceptance testing.
•In-depth experience with the development lifecycle and software development methodologies.
•Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic team environment and interact at all levels.
•Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent time management and project planning/strategizing skills.
•Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Loan servicing or mortgage lending experience a plus.

Responsible for problem tracking, diagnosis, replication, troubleshooting and resolution of application help desk tickets. Document all troubleshooting processes and actions performed to resolve production issues. Design, develop, test and implement web-based and SQL Server solutions to resolve application issues or complete small project requests. Execute production deployments. Analyze application help desk tickets and suggest improvements to reduce application issues. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of development and production environments. Work collaboratively with development team and business partners in defining, developing and implementing technology solutions to resolve application issues. Utilize standard development procedures and techniques to write programs and formulate concepts and solutions using appropriate technical components. Develop technical documentation for all developed applications, including flowcharts. Manage the design and execution of acceptance test plans for a successful implementation. Understand the total corporate IT computing environment and daily operations and understands the impact of planned changes. Perform business analyst functions on small projects or to resolve application issues. Must be able to participate in assigned On-Call Rotations and provide on-call support as required.

Demonstrated experience with Production/Application Support.
Demonstrated experience with developing ASP.Net and VB.Net applications. Demonstrated experience with Visual Basic a plus.
Experience with other Microsoft languages and technologies a plus. Demonstrated experience with adhering to usability, design and development standards.
Demonstrated experience with all aspects of unit testing, performance testing and user acceptance testing.
