Job Title: Oracle DBA/ Data Architect
Location: The position is located in Denver, CO

As a Data Architect this person will work with many different teams/groups through out the Comverse Converged Billing Solutions organization to understand their business needs and how we can deliver effective, efficient, reliable, and timely solutions to our customers enabling them to work more productively in a cost effective and stable database environment. The Data Architect will work in a dynamic environment with varying roles ranging from data modeling for new development projects to consulting with internal groups on performance and tuning to internal database support for products to external support of deployed products. The requirements of this job require a broad skill set that encompasses the ability to perform Logical Data Modeling and application design on the one end all the way down to the understanding of physical machine configuration on the other end of the spectrum.

Once the construction of the product is compete the data architect will then support the deliverables as they move through DIT/PQA and are released to our customers as part of the company**s product suite. Once into production, support is provided as necessary to the Support Organization and Current release groups on both an in and after hours basis.

In this position the developer will work with and support the Architecture, Development teams, Core Engineering team, PQA teams, Documentation team, Current Release team, Sustaining Engineering team, Support Organizaton, and Educational Services teams to construct and support product deliverables. **

Job Requirements:

- Work with System Architects and Development Engineers to develop the logical and physical data models for CBS applications consistent with existing architectures.
- Includes conceptual design, logical database design, and physical database design as necessary for the project.
- Work with development teams to schedule, develop, test, document, and implement database changes into development releases and environments using ClearCase for source management.
- Responsible for deliverables including DDL, Triggers, Stored Procedures, various database objects, UNIX Korn Shell (ksh) scripts, and/or Perl scripts as necessary.
- A strong knowledge of Oracle**s command line interfaces and utilities is required in order to develop and support the product suite.
- Responsible for managing time efficiently and effectively and working with project management to produce deliverables on time.
- Responsible for scheduling and holding design reviews as needed to support the development processes.
- Participation in the development, documentation, maintenance, and enforcement of database standards and naming conventions for all database objects and machine configurations both internal and external supported environments.
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to schedule time and use resources to meet the goals, objectives, and schedules.
- Provides guidance to peers and co-workers within company policies and management guidance.
- Ability to respond to on-call situations as necessary.
- Work with database vendors to research database topics/issues as necessary.
- Keep current on new features, and raise/follow up on Service Requests opened with the vendors when appropriate.
- Work with Development, Sustaining Engineering, PQA, Support Services, Professional Services, Educational Services, KBS Labs and Special Development to understand, support, maintain, and add value to their database needs.
- Make efficiency and performance improvement recommendations, resolve client issues, and tickets in a timely manner.
- Support database server environments including capacity planning, performance monitoring, database vendor software maintenance, database tool support, and various DBA functions such as SQL tuning, automatic start/stop, and database backups based on customer requirements.
- Requires interaction and coordination with System Administration team and all other supported teams for all database server issues.
