SUMMARY



The candidate will provide senior level system administrative support for hardware, OS and 3rd party utilities for multiple UNIX and Linux environments. Job Description:

Organization Objective/Purpose:
The Database Marketing team is an internal consulting unit within the marketing organization. We deliver direct marketing support and analysis, including evaluating business requirements, designing complex marketing campaigns, evaluating campaigns, and providing recommendations to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Our services are in heavy demand due to our reputation for accuracy, strong business insight, outstanding productivity and attention to detail - allowing us to seek candidates to grow the team further.

Brief Description of Role:

The Senior Manager is an intellectually curious thought leader who drives progress and results, managing all aspects of the work autonomously. This entails leveraging statistical and analytical skills as well as direct marketing expertise to develop sound experimental designs, targeting models, backend analyses for direct marketing campaigns, and general business analyses. The Senior Manager will present results and recommendations to our internal and external clients, including departments such as Marketing Communications, Client Experience, Sales and Finance, and work highly collaboratively with a wide range of business and technical partners throughout the firm. This requires a clear understanding of database marketing concepts, and strong communication, analytical, statistical, project management, and technical skills.

Technical/Functional Qualifications:


General:

- Champion database marketing best practices in designing direct marketing campaigns and other marketing or business initiatives
- Articulate business rationale surrounding direct marketing campaigns or other analyses with peers, management and business partners
- Explain database marketing and statistical concepts to non-technical partners
- Leverage business, industry and marketing knowledge to better synthesize insights for individual direct marketing campaigns as well as for multi-component campaigns that also include advertising and online communications
- Manage multiple, simultaneous projects while meeting internal client expectations and critical deadlines
- Build strong partnerships with key support teams and business partners

Technical:

- Analysis: Evaluate marketing programs or answer other business questions effectively and communicate findings to senior management. Analysis required for full campaign life cycle including initial forecast, in market reporting, and post campaign financial and behavioral impact.
- Statistical Concepts: Blend statistical concepts such as sample sizing, significance testing, and experimental design with an understanding of business goals to develop measurable testing strategies that gauge the impact of direct marketing campaigns
- Programming: Program efficiently and accurately in SAS/SQL to mine, pull, and evaluate data from all our various data sources
- A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in marketing campaign evaluation/optimization, SAS/SQL programming, and appropriate use of statistics
- Modeling experience (not required, but a bonus): Understand business objectives and translate them to properly develop, test, and maintain targeting models used to optimize direct marketing campaigns (~ 20% of the time)

Responsibilities




* Must be experienced in troubleshooting of complex multi-vendor and geographically separated storage environments.



* 5-10 years in-depth experience working with Storage and Storage related fields



* Technical product experience in the following

- Brocade/McData Fabric switches

- HDS, Netapp, Sun/Oracle, IBM, HP, Dell, and EMC storage



* Must have Expert knowledge of basic RAID, storage tiering, storage architecture concepts, storage virtualization, and storage best practices



* Must have experience in administrating and troubleshooting Brocade Fabrics: zoning, aliasing, QoS, FC routing, etc.



* Must have experience in administration, configuration, and performance troubleshooting of HDS and Netapp storage primarily, additional storage vendor experience is a plus



* Experience with in-system and external replication of storage using HDS or Netapp software.



* Experience with planning and implementing storage migrations for datacenter moves



* Understanding of the fiber channel protocols and storage networking, experience with long distance SAN networking a plus..



* Expert understanding of how server behaviors and IO load patterns affect storage (LUN queuing, multipathing, application IO size, etc ).



* High level of knowledge regarding setup, configuration, and administration with Hitachi Command Suite software. (Device Manager, Tiered storage manager, Tuning Manager, etc)



*Basic Unix and Windows administration understanding and skills, (VI, file manipulation, regedit, AD, UNIX and Windows based file permissions).



*Intermediate understanding of networking required: DNS, netmasks, IP routing, NIS, AD



* Experience with storage configurations in Vmare, Xen, and Oracle RAC environments



Must be thoroughly proficient in the following protocols/technologies:



*FC, SCSI, ISCSI, NFS, CIFS, SAS (FCoE not required but a plus), fiber channel trunking


About the Opportunity


The Storage Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of an extensive storage environment across many geographies and business units each with its own unique requirements. Must be able to show initiative and teamwork to resolve projects spanning many disciplines, teams, and data environments. Timely and appropriate response to customers is of the utmost concern. Documenting and reporting to clients their performance and capacity utilization.


* Must have Expert knowledge of basic RAID, storage tiering, storage architecture concepts, storage virtualization, local and datacenter replication practices, and storage best practices

* Must have experience in architecting, administrating, and troubleshooting Brocade Fabrics: zoning, aliasing, QoS, FC routing, and virtual fabrics. (FC to Ethernet bridging experience a plus)

* Must have experience in architecting, administration, configuration, and performance troubleshooting of HDS and Netapp storage solutions primarily, additional storage vendor experience is a plus

* Experience with in-system and external replication of storage using HDS or Netapp software.
