Requirements:

* Extensive experience programming in C, C++ and Java
* Good current knowledge of Unix/Linux environments, and solid
experience in code optimization and high performance computing.
* Broad experience in a wide range of IP networking technologies,
including TCP/IP, HTTP, multicast, IGMP, and routing.
* Additional experience in various web and real-time IP
communications protocols and systems, including HTTP and XMPP, SOAP,

Position Overview


The Architect III - Data Modeling & Design will be a key member of the Enterprise Data Management team responsible for enterprise database modeling and design deliverables for implementations, upgrades, assessments, and integration projects across the company. Provide experience with Data Management and Data Modeling capabilities to help customers address their complex business challenges - from enterprise value maximization and business case development, to program management and system configuration. Produce deliverables such as defining corporate data strategy and architectures, developing and maintaining enterprise data model, designing, modeling, and maintaining assigned enterprise database platform (OLTPs, ODS, Staging, and EDW/OLAP) models.


Essential Functions
Accurately plans and manages the end to end delivery of Data Modeling related projects (enhancements, rollouts, upgrades).
Ensures production of timely and high quality deliverables pertaining to Data Modeling capabilities and applications.
Monitors project progress and status, conducts regular project reviews and provides regular project status reports.
Participates in the shaping of Data Management strategy and architecture as we sunset legacy DB systems and move to more strategic Data platforms.
Partner and work with IT Applications developers and IT Infrastructure/Operations DBAs to implement DB models.
Develop and work with internal business customers to foster and grow focus on importance of Data Management, especially, Master Data Management, Data Quality, and Data Stewardship.
Use industry best practices to develop database architectures and designs for large and medium sized complex web, database and data warehouse applications using standard software engineering tools.
Develop complex components.
Research and evaluate new tools and technology for use.
Be a mentor to development staff.
Manages expectations in relationship to timeline deliverables.
Familiarity with TM Forum and its framework (NGOSS) and Model (SID) highly desirable.
Experience in using and administrating corporate Enterprise Architect (MDG plug-in) or Rational toolset (Rational Apex, Rose, SoDA, ClearCase, etc.) highly desirable.


Key areas of focus include
Enterprise Data Modeling strategy, design, and implementation, with an emphasis on developing the Cricket Enterprise Data Model.
Database design and modeling of key corporate database platforms across the enterprise including OLTP, ODS, Staging, and DW/OLAP databases.

Departmental Functions
The Architect Data Modeling & Design leads and coordinates the technical effort in support of both Project Managers and the Program Manager and is responsible for deriving and translating business requirements; ensuring the data architecture integrates system components, including hardware, software, data, and procedures, to satisfy system requirements; applying architectural and engineering concepts to create database designs that are appropriately scalable, maintainable, securable, reliable, extensible, flexible, available, manageable, etc; ensuring that new databases are implemented to conform to enterprise data model, current strategies, and identify evolving business requirements.
Serve as the lead technical resource and reference for the new databases, and help define appropriate customer support responses, as well as dealing directly with customers on high-level issues. Providing oversight and guidance of new database initiatives ensuring adherence to architectural principles. Be responsible for the timely delivery of defined database capabilities, which includes managing the expectations of management, communicating decisions and issues, and presenting critical information.
Responsible for evaluation of external interfaces, broad database functions and issues, and implementation strategies, and is responsible for the integrity of the data architecture across the functional areas (architecture, system engineering, software development, and test engineering).
Work with other architects on planning and implementation of the technical Enterprise Architecture, including both short and long term strategies for retiring certain legacy systems, integrating existing systems and new systems implementation recommendations. Participate in architectural governance activities, e.g. developing policies, procedures and standards for consistent use of reusable services within projects. Understand architectural best practices, processes and standards and apply them across a breadth of technologies to orchestrate solutions.
Lead the evaluation of software vendors targeted for possible integration into the systems or environment, including strategic applications, tools and utilities
Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging developments and trends in technology that could impact current projects and influence new projects.


Education:


B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.


Industry Experience:


8 + years experience in data architecting, designing and implementing cross platform solutions in large enterprises.
3+ years in database development and 3+ years experience architecting enterprise-level database applications, integrating proprietary and vendor-provided components.

Requirements

Seeking a senior level APEX Oracle application/integration developer with strong technical and problem solving skills to provide assistance and ideas for NREL's new APEX systems and help with new development and testing as needed. This individual would work closely with staff to enhance the existing applications and provide maintenance strategies to ensure system stability and flexibility. Position Overview


•The Architect III - Data Modeling & Design will be a key member of the Enterprise Data Management team responsible for enterprise database modeling and design deliverables for implementations, upgrades, assessments, and integration projects across the company. Provide experience with Data Management and Data Modeling capabilities to help customers address their complex business challenges - from enterprise value maximization and business case development, to program management and system configuration.
