Summary: 

The Database Administrator is primarily responsible for maintaining availability and performance of the enterprise database environment.  As a member of the Database Administration team you’ll have rotating responsibility sets of on call, ticket queue and project work.  Through various tasks and projects this position will interact with product development, application support and systems administration teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

•Work as an on call resource in rotation responding to issues in a 24/7 environment.

•Responsible for ensuring that all QA, Development, Migration and Production database environments are synchronized.
•Responsible for recommending optimal index creation, storage allocations, and partitioning strategies.
•Responsible for managing and implementing Integration Services Packages
•Responsible for managing and implementing Reporting Services Reports

•SQL Development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design using T-SQL ( stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints )
•Acquaintance with windows server 2008 R2, security delegation, SPNs, storage components. 


Preferred:

•Experience with Powershell and or SSIS desired.

Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Engineer - Automated Testing will work on a team responsible for full lifecycle testing of ZOLL's web based applications.  In this role, this individual will help to develop processes and procedures to further the company's capabilities in automated testing and to help to move the company from a manual testing to an automated testing environment.  This person will be responsible for testing all layers of an n-tiered Microsoft web based suite of applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*        Read and interpreted functional (marketing) and technical (development) specifications and develop comprehensive test plans designed to perform functional and load testing.  Functional testing should include edge and routine cases, data entry error, program logic errors, exceptions, etc).
*        Design, develop, and trouble shoot automated test scripts using web based automated test tools to validate the technical and functional integrity of web based components.  This will include stored procedures, services, and web apps.
*        Configure test environments including Microsoft web servers, web browsers, MS SQL, and application installations.  Configurations may include medical devices and communications devices such as serial modems, heart monitors, and other devices.
*        Responsible for testing on .NET and IOS platforms utilizing IE, Safari, Chrome, and Firefox as clients
*        Run and monitor test scripts on test environment.  Interpret the resulting error logs and other output results.  Trouble-shoot results to determine if the error is an engineering error or an error in the test script and/or database utilizing MS SQL and other data query tools.
*        Create simulators as necessary to create test data streams for I/O devices such as heart monitors, GPS devices, in-vehicle navigations systems, and proprietary devices.
*        Collaborate as a member of a highly functional R&D team to perform testing on multiple applications and move from application team to application team as necessary.
*        Adhere to professional standards regarding documentation, project management, quality, communication, and teamwork.

Requirements:

*        5+ years of experience performing Quality Engineering work in a software development organization.
*        Ability to read and interpret professional, documented .NET code
*        Ability to develop test scripts at a highly proficient level including tools such as VB Script, PERL, Rational Robot, Seque, and current web technologies.
*        Demonstrated success with full lifecycle Quality Engineering including test plan design and error log troub-shooting.
*        Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science highly desirable.

Summary:

Duties and Responsibilities   
Provide a focal point for all software releases; accommodate requests for releases via the appropriate medium (i.e. official test requests).

Work with various members of the Engineering team to schedule, test, and release software and/or download streams for both internal and external use.
