Develops, tests, and modifies applications, operating systems, database related, or other business software. Performs modifications, testing, and debugging tasks on vendor-supplied utilities and packages to best suit operating environment. Maintains necessary design and testing documentation.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
** Conducts and participates in technical reviews including code reviews and design analysis, and software requirements feasibility.
** Generates program/module and function/sub-routine level project estimations.
** Identifies procedural and system enhancements designed to streamline and improve the overall efficiency of processes.
** Interprets and understands database schemas and can generates full-system database schema designs
** Creates High and Low Level Detailed Design for complex or simple systems.
** Performs Function/Sub-Routine or Module/Program-Level software analysis and creates appropriate design specifications
** Performs Function/Sub-Routine or Module/Program-Level coding and unit testing work according to design specifications
** Performs Function/Sub-Routine or Module/Program-Level troubleshooting and debugging
** Designs and develops working proof of concept software
** Provides Production/Customer technical support/assistance when escalated by operations or other internal groups
** Creates and executes unit test plans and executes integration plans
** Executes functional tests for thresholds and utilization capacity.
** Implement automation test tools per specification and design
** Performs software installations, set-up, and configuration according to a documented procedure.
** Plans, coordinates, and participates in software installations, including pre-planning, setup, customer preparation, conversions, configuration, and post-production support
** Create Functional Specifications
** Complies with the letter and spirit of the Intrado Information Security Policy.
** Understands and follows the corporate product development lifecycle and software development lifecycle processes.



Education & Experience
** Bachelor**s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 3 years experience in software development and methodology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
** Computer skills for a software developer position depending on the projects and environment but may include or require knowledge of one or more of the following:
** Programming languages: C, C++, Java, Javascript, Cobol85, Microsoft Visual Basic, SAS
** Databases: Miscrosoft SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, Non-stop SQL
** Environments: Unix, Linux, Microsoft Windows, HP NonStop, HP-UX, J2EE
** Misc. Languages: ASP, HTML
** Methodologies: UML, Structured, Object Oriented, Agile, Extreme, Scrum
** Fundamental knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (spatial/mapping) concepts.
** Familiar with: Oracle DB and Oracle Spatial
** Java web development, J2EE, MVC, and XML
** ESRI ** desktop tools
** ESRI ArcGIS
** Experience with web-services development for transmittal and incorporation of spatial data in various formats
