POSITION SUMMARY: Provides expertise in data extraction and data delivery specific to HEDIS, NCQA, Quality improvement and other regulatory requirements. Works with the IQTS (Integrated Quality Tools and Systems) team to produce quarterly and annual reports based on regulatory specifications. Maintain and support a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance within PPS/IQTS. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities and applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards. Appropriately reports observed fraud or abuse.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, information technology, or related area. Equivalent experience will be considered.
High level of SAS programming skills (5+ years experience). Experience using other analytical and data access tools such as Focus, and EasyTrieve helpful. Experience with Data Warehouses and Business Objects helpful.
Extensive knowledge of IBM mainframe MVS, JCL, and TSO, as well as SQL and PC/SAS. Extensive knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word. Knowledge of DB2/Oracle and MS Access database management systems helpful.
Strong analytical skills and strong skills in report programming/automation. Excellent customer service skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
A self-starter, who is able to work in a team environment, and yet work independently, and work with initiative


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Provides expertise to the PPS/IQTS team in accessing data from interdepartmental systems as required by regulatory agency specifications.
Creates and interprets ad hoc, quarterly and annual reports for regulatory requirements including NCQA, HEDIS, CMI, and CMS.
Problem solves, consults on and resolves data quality issues.
Creates, tests, and maintains programming code to extract data and create reports based on complex HEDIS-specific requirements, as well as other regulatory requirements.
Develops quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy of data and reports.
Maintains a programming code library for regulatory-specific program code and maintains security. Establishes programming procedures for regulatory requirements such as NCQA and HEDIS.
Provides support and expertise in the consolidation and automation of regulatory data.
Tracks and documents changes to regulatory data and programming coding.
Supervises temporary programmers, contracted for regulatory reporting.
