National Ecological Observatory Network - Help Desk
Overview: The National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) is a $430 million dollar observatory project dedicated to understanding how changes in climate, land use and invasive species impact ecology. For the next three decades NEON will collect a comprehensive range of ecological data on a continental scale across 20 eco-climatic domains representing US ecosystems. NEON will use cutting edge technology including an airborne observation platform that will capture images of regional landscapes and vegetation; mobile, re-locatable, and fixed data collection sites with automated ground sensors to monitor soil and atmosphere; and trained field crews who will observe and sample populations of diverse organisms and collect soil and water data. A leading edge cyber-infrastructure will calibrate, store and publish this information. The Observatory will grow to 300+ personnel and will be the first of its kind designed to detect and enable forecasting of ecological change at continental scales.

As a core member of our production services team you will provide application support of our core systems. We're not talking just maintenance and patches the real deal! True root cause analysis. You'll be researching anomalies and providing resolutions. You are a true customer champion not satisfied with simply fixing a problem you want to understand why it happened and how you can heal the situation both the application and the customer. What you'll be doing:
- Investigating application defects/issues generally through ad hoc SQL queries of the production database.
- Implementing solutions, often through database or file manipulation to correct application behavior defects.
- Communicating with the application users to both gain additional information and to deliver ticket status.
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation describing solutions to common issues/defects
- Participating in the conversion/migration of legacy data into our new systems
- Remaining mindful of how very critical data quality is to our internal and external constituents
What we're looking for from you:
- Bachelor level in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- A minimum of six years of hands-on experience with Oracle SQL
- Solid Unix experience; file system navigation, file manipulation, and file transfer protocols
- Excellent investigative and data analysis skills
- The ability to work cohesively with your team and execute on tasks independently
- An uncanny ability to derive creative solutions to uncommon problems
- Understanding of basic data architecture and relational database design patterns
- Some exposure to an AGILE/SCRUM development methodology and ITIL service management frameworks

Red Robin - Enterprise Data Analyst
Senior Enterprise Data Analyst
Based at our Greenwood Village Home Office you will participate in the build-out of enterprise
data architecture at Red Robin. This includes developing and supporting data integration services
and reporting services that provide business owners access to key performance metrics across the
organization.
Additional Duties Include
Supporting new and existing databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security
in a distributed architecture environment.
Work with application developers to design and implement application data models.
Perform implementation tasks including physical storage configuration, database export and import, data migration / conversion and database performance tuning.
Troubleshoot application database issues identifying database server issues versus application issues.
Develop and maintain database functionality to support corporate reporting and application needs
through building database structures, ETL processes, stored procedures, audit reports, and
data extracts.
Troubleshoot and problem solve of existing databases and data architectures.
Provide decision support and fulfill ad hoc data reporting requests.
Skills/Requirements:
4 year degree in CIS, MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience (required)
5-10 years of database development, data modeling
Experience with SQL Server 2005 or better including SQL Server Integration & Server
Reporting Services
Experience writing SQL, including queries, triggers, stored procedures
Experience with Oracle database 11g, Oracle Data Integrator, and Oracle Business Intelligence
Enterprise Edition desired
Separation of data methodologies (i.e. staging, development, production)
Operational data storage environments and data warehousing concepts desired
Database Administration activities including managing connections, configuring databases
