The Business Analyst (BA) will gather and document business requirements for existing and future business systems, and will act as a liaison between business staff and technical staff to articulate needs, issues and concerns. The incumbent will provide application support including: Application Change Management (ACM), enhancement release coordination and first line technical application support. Provide subject matter expertise for assigned applications.

SECTION II - Examples of Duties
Duties
Requirements Gathering/Documentation - Design and document detailed business requirements, functional requirements, workflow, etc., utilizing approved templates. Assist or facilitate the business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses. Generate business models and Use Case analysis. Responsible for transforming notes into more detailed system diagrams and supporting requirements. Adhere to approved change management process with requirements documentation.

Business Relationships - Meet with business customers to obtain necessary information to construct quality requirements documentation. Communicate effectively with business customers to gather symptoms, resolve problems, and communicate status and results on system related issues. Maintaining a proactive stance with business relationship(s) to ensure the business needs are always met.

Application Support - Provide on-site technical support and maintenance to resolve systems' problems. Maintain and update applications for established systems. Provide technical support and advice to users. Manage Application Change Management (ACM) for assigned applications and coordinate enhancement releases.

Research - Perform necessary research to support requirements documentation. Perform comprehensive functionality and performance tests for new technologies and optimize system performance. Research available products to meet project requirements

Reporting - Ensure that project/requirement(s) are properly tracked and documented. Report to business and reporting manager as necessary with status. Assist the team with necessary updates on projects.

SECTION III - Independence of Action
The incumbent will work under general supervision applying established techniques, procedures or specific standards. Work will be reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall accuracy. The System Analyst will execute policies at direction of supervisor and make recommendations for change. Overall approval of assigned task(s) is needed by SVP, AVP of Corporate Systems and/or immediate supervisor.





SECTION IV - Relationships

Internal relationships:
• Working frequently with business staff, Internal Audit, various IT groups (Developers, QA and Reporting Team) and supervisory management.

External relationships:
• Communicates with external vendors on an as needed basis. Coordinate evaluations and demos with vendors. Communicate with vendor technical support. Provide information and meet with officers from external Audit firms (i.e. E&Y, OTS).

SECTION V - Basic Qualifications

Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent required
MSIT/IS or MBA with emphasis in IT/IS preferred

Experience:
3+ experience in the Mortgage industry.
5+ years in a Business Analyst or Support and Development role.
Experience with Finance, Banking, and Quality Control applications.
Experience in the use of project management principles and methodologies.
Experience constructing Use Cases, Data Flow Diagrams, and Flow Charts.
Experience with any of the following applications is preferred: ChaseLink/Insight, BankServ, AMB, Cognos, Remedy, Aces, LawBase and any ACH processing tool.
Experience with EDI is preferred.
