The department of University Information Systems (UIS) is recruiting for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator. This senior position exists to support and provide architectural advice regarding Oracle database platforms within the Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) unit of University Information Systems which provides critical administration, operational and development support for UIS databases. This group also provides 2nd tier troubleshooting for user access issues as well as 3rd tier support for application and database performance issues. This position coordinates with other ECS groups, Application Development and application managers to ensure alignment of plans and to meet customer needs and expectations. The incumbent will be responsible for continuously improving the technical skills, standardization of platforms and operational processes utilized in the group.
Specific Responsibilities:
-10% Technical Leadership
Provide on-going leadership and guidance to DBA team regarding projects, daily issue resolutions,and process development. Research new features or specific issues for use in current operations or future development. Document database configurations and practices. Share knowledge with rest of DBA group.

Include these changes in the Disaster Recovery Plan Review, modify and test Disaster Recovery plans for production databases annually or as needed. Create, maintain, backup and refresh databases for use by development teams. Migrate projects and changes from development database into production database. -Assists in the planning, scheduling, and assigning of development and systems engineering projects. Coordinates programming projects with the work of other staff.

-10+ years of software development experience
