PROGRAMMING CONSULTANT II

including training, consulting and technical support, ITT Visual Information
Solutions offers the most complete data visualization and image analysis

We are looking for a talented, dedicated software engineer to join our
Professional Services consulting team. Primary responsibilities will be
developing algorithms and applications for software projects using our ENVI
software. ENVI (Environment for Visualizing Images) is the leading software
package for spectral data analysis. Areas of development will include image
classification/feature extraction, data specific file readers/writers,
advanced spectral tools, GIS functionality, change detection, geometric
correction tools, as well as LIDAR processing tools developed in IDL for use
in the ENVI software environment. Application code will typically be written
in IDL. Some projects may require only IDL development expertise.
The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver with a strong interest
in building leading edge remote sensing algorithms and applications to meet
our customers' needs. Some travel is required.
Required Minimum Skills and Qualifications
* 3 - 7 years of current coding experience in one or more of the
following language/applications: IDL, ENVI, C, C++, or Java.
* 5+ years of professional experience in a field of science,
engineering, or software development.
* Experience designing/implementing image processing software
(algorithms and user interfaces).
* High-level knowledge of remote sensing/Earth sciences theory and
application strongly desired
* Experience in software application requirements analysis and design
* Experience estimating resource and schedule requirements for
projects
* Ability to work as part of a project team with other consultants and
customers
* Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
* College degree in remote sensing or related engineering field, or
equivalent experience
Desired Skills
* Fluency in IDL programming
* Experience with extending ENVI with the IDL programming language and
with ENVI user function programming
* Experience with other sensors such as Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)
and LIDAR/LADAR

We have an opportunity for results-oriented test engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of our IDL testing team.
IDL is a development platform that provides users with a set of tools they
can use to perform data analysis and visualization. Within this role, you
will be responsible for developing and executing our test strategy for
up-and-coming releases, performing functional, system, and regression
testing.
Qualified candidates must be experienced in all aspects of the QA lifecycle
including project planning, creating test approaches, developing automation,
as well as effectively communicating project test status.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
** Proficient in a programming language such as C, C++, C# and/or
Java (experience with Eclipse very beneficial).
** Solid understanding of QA methodologies.
** Automation and test script experience
** 5+ years of experience in product testing including Black and
Grey box.
** Well versed in software development lifecycles.
** Good communication and organizational skills.
** Self Starter with the ability to multitask.
** Multiple Operating system experience preferred. We currently
support Linux, Solaris, Mac OS, and all Windows flavors.
** Experience with WinRunner or similar toolset a plus.
** Geo Spatial or remote sensing experience a plus!
** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or the sciences, or
equivalent experience.
