Webroot is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to perform complex testing tasks requiring planning, scheduling and testing to assure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. This position requires communication with product developers, product managers, usability engineers and technical support specialists on product issues and this individual will operate under minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure software releases meet Quality Assurance specifications with regard to expected features, functionality and quality, by implementation of a test plan, and through comparison of the end product with respect to the finalized requirements documents, product descriptions, and technical design specifications.

· Provide necessary feedback to software developers and designers to eliminate defects within the product as early in the development process as possible.

· Participate in all phases of the project, from review of requirements and design to final system testing and launch

· Develop test cases and test products to meet assigned requirements

· Render detailed defect descriptions and support materials into the defect tracking system

· Schedule definition, resource requirements, and execution to plan for all assigned features

· Interact with Development team to ensure a comprehensive engineering documents and test strategy

· Documentation reviews for Technical Publications deliverables

· May be asked to supervise or mentor junior QA engineers to meet established project milestones

· Stay abreast of industry-wide changes in technology, programming techniques and new tools being used in the QA field

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent. Industry experience is acceptable

· 5+ years experience in product Quality Assurance

o In depth knowledge of QA test methodologies and strategies

o Application and demonstration of systematic approaches for identifying and rendering feature rich, complex test cases

o Demonstrates competence and self-motivation in analyzing problems and performing root cause analysis

o Cardinal knowledge, application and improvements to various product development processes (e.g. Agile)

o Experience in rendering and reviewing metrics for assessing readiness of product release

o Performance monitoring and analysis

o Proven ability to grasp quickly and keep current on new technologies and understand business needs

o Able to identify and co-implement quality campaigns within the Development community

o Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

· 4 + years experience with Windows Operating Systems

· 2 + years experience in testing of Consumer or Enterprise class Security products

· Technical experience in automation framework design and product support

· 4+ years experience in software automation

· 3+ years work experience writing Test Scripts (i.e. Perl, Python, TCL)

· Experience with relational databases (i.e. DB2, Oracle, MS SQL)

· UI Automation experience a big plus

· Experience working in test-driven development model a plus

· Test Automation or Code Coverage Analysis skills a plus
