POSITION PURPOSE:
Design, Build, Test, and Maintain applications within the Vail Resorts
enterprise integration platform.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with Business and IT contacts to maintain integrations
between key existing applications: Central Reservations products,
websites, accounting package, property management system, marketing
email deployment platform and enterprise customer database.
2. Evolve degree of data exchange between existing integrated
applications and work to integrate additional applications - web
applications, additional property management systems and activity
inventory systems
3. Complete additional projects as assigned by the Integration
Services Manager
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
* 2+ years of experience with Microsoft.NET (C#)
* 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
* Self motivated and able to work in an independent manner
* Understanding of XML, XML Schema, XPath, and XSLT
* Four-year college degree; focus on engineering or computer
science
* Excellent communication skills
* Desire to learn enterprise integration technologies, patterns,
and methodologies.
* Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and
departments, to work as part of a team
Nice To Have:
* Experience integrating enterprise applications with Microsoft
BizTalk
* Understanding of web services (WSDL, ASMX, WCF)
* Understanding of service oriented and publish-subscribe
architecture patterns
* Experience working in Scrum development methodology
* Experience with Subversion Source Control
* Experience in Build Automation
* Familiarity and interest in skiing, snowboarding and travel.
LOCATION/TRAVEL:
The position is located at Vail Resorts Broomfield, Colorado corporate
headquarters. Travel to our various resorts and lodging properties will
be required.

Vail Resorts is looking for an IT Application Development Manager for
the Mountain Resort Division located in Broomfield, CO. This person is
responsible for the development and management of business applications
within the Vail Resorts Mountain Resort application portfolio. The
primary responsibility is the Management of a Development Team
responsible for the Product Management and Product Roadmap of a custom
Resort Point of Sale (RPOS) system that includes a diverse set of
resort-wide functionality.
The Manager will have direct responsibility for technology resources
(developers, consultants, and contractors) while taking a lead role in
managing cross-functional projects and teams through project execution.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing 2-4 Internal Developers, External Contractors, and
Development Consultants
* Management of the SDLC for a custom Resort Point of Sale (RPOS)
system
* Direct interaction with Sr. Management within IT and throughout
the Business
* Strategic Product Roadmap Planning and Execution
* Complex Project Management for a Diverse set of Development
Projects
Ideal background and experience:
* 7-10 years experience in IT Management
* 3-5 years of Commercial or Custom Product Management
* 3-5 years of Application Production Support in an Complex
Operating Environment
* Resort or Hospitality experience a plus
* Point of Sale experience a plus
