We are recruiting a Desktop Technician to provide support for one of
our client's IT environment. This includes desktop and laptop,
hardware and software; network troubleshooting, in collaboration with
the network infrastructure groups; server updates and backup
environments.

Need to know:
Windows Server environments
Standard Software Ste – Office 2000, 2003
Virus Software – TrendMicro
Hardware – Gateway, Dell, Blackberry

Duties shall include, but not be limited to:
• Expert knowledge and ability to provide advanced
infrastructure maintenance, monitoring, operating, and coordination
of the operation of IT equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting desktop system, printer and
operating problems.
• Consulting and instructing users on hardware and software
questions/issues.
• Collaborate with System and Network Infrastructure teams
• Installs, maintains and upgrades equipment and its associated
infrastructure.
• Runs diagnostic tests to isolate system problems and make
recommendations for potential solutions.
• Responds to error messages, equipment failures and other
concerns from laboratory staff.
• Ensures systems remain operational during stated support
hours.
• Troubleshoots equipment failures.

This is a long-term onsite consulting (contracting) position, so

Project Management Consultant

Duties
The Project Management Consultant will report directly to the Deputy
Director, Information Services and assist our client in development
and implementation of its Portfolio/Project Management System
Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Working closely with
the IS Management Team and key technical and business resources, the
Consultant will: spearhead the implementation of accepted Project
Portfolio and Project Management standards and process that will be
implemented throughout IS and cross-organizationally where
appropriate; and use methods for analyzing and collectively managing
a group of current or proposed projects based on numerous key
characteristics; determine the optimal mix and sequencing of proposed
projects to best achieve the business and technical strategy goals,
while honoring constraints imposed by management or external real-
world factors.

Project Background
Our client's Information Services Office (ISO) is responsible for
delivering core IT infrastructure and support services throughout the
organization. Multiple ISO initiatives are underway to better
support the organization through a sustained period of growth and
expansion. Pertinent initiatives include:

• Definition and implementation of techniques and tools to
better manage the project portfolio, individual projects and resource
allocation.
• Enhancement of communication and collaboration tool-sets to
facilitate enhanced partnerships with the public, private and
academic sectors.
• Integration of mandated Cyber Security requirements with
accepted "Best Practices" and risk-based evaluations and oversight.

Additional relevant initiatives include:

Construction of new facilities to include a LEEDS Platinum Data
Center.
Analysis and possible replacement of selected legacy business systems.
Increases in High-Performance Computing resources.

Requirements
We are seeking an individual with a highly developed project
management skill-set who has been responsible for planning,
analyzing, designing, and implementing methodologies that have
resulted in successful project management. Specific experience
includes:

• 10+ years in developing and implementing SDLC processes and
methodologies in highly complex and/or technical environments.
• 10+ years as a project manager with direct experience
managing projects in several of the following areas, and a strong
knowledge in the others: applications, infrastructure, data and
information management, security, Web (and Web app) development and
services, and Open Source.
• 10+ years experience with system, business and process
analysis.
• Extensive experience analyzing project total expected cost,
resources, schedule expectations and requirements, expected outcome,
benefits to be realized, and relationship or inter-dependencies with
other projects in the portfolio.
• Extensive expertise managing project risk, including the
ability to research, analyze, and propose recommendations for complex
tactical implementations with respect to strategic business goals.
• Experience providing technical leadership at the enterprise
level for project management methodologies.
• Experience with complex technical environments using multiple
technologies and application languages.
• Ability to manage and lead the analysis of business needs
(organizational analysis, functional analysis, business process and
activity analysis, and business data analysis) using industry
standard methodologies and principles.
• Practical knowledge of enterprise business applications
including: Finance, HR, Procurement, various tracking systems, etc.
• Experience interacting with technical and business executives
to identify high-level solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively in a team
environment.
• Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both
internal and external groups.
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
• PMP or other Project Management Certification
• Bachelor's degree in information systems or equivalent
relevant experience/education in a related field.
