Rally Software - Operations Engineer

Rally software is seeking a motivated individual with a passion for managing systems and networks. The Operations team supports the development process and scalability of Rally's SaaS Agile Life-cycle Management tool which receives weekly software updates. This team works with an agile software development team in an iterative cadence supporting both test and production systems.

What you will be doing:

* Administrating, monitoring and maintaining Rally's on-demand test and production systems. * Specifying, implementing and maintaining state of the art computer hardware. * Performing production system upgrades and patches. * Assisting with production system security policies and audits. * Evaluate current and future system performance and enhance system operation and data processing capabilities. * Specify, configure and deploy networking technologies including but not limited to: Cisco firewalls, routers and switches (VLANs, port bonding, fail-over redundancy). * On call availability to service a highly redundant and reliable production system.

Your skills should include:

* 5+ years of Linux/UNIX operations experience with prior SaaS or Web application experience preferred. * Operations experience with a 3-tiered architecture on RedHat or Centos, Jetty/Tomcat and Oracle (10g or 11g) or similar architectures. * Detailed and methodical nature when executing product system installations, migrations, maintenance and upgrades. * Ability to document changes and procedures for all systems. * Deep technical problem solving skills. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Strong Unix/Linux scripting skills. * Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure.

Experience with the following is preferred:

* VMware * iSCSI SANs * Nagios or similar * Cacti or similar * Puppet or similar * LDAP * PHP/Perl or similar
