GHX - Technical Product Manager

Will closely collaborate with the development/delivery team on a daily basis to guide and direct the team by actively managing the backlog, answering questions when they arise, providing feedback, and signing off work results.

Will work with Product Managers and Internal Stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of the market needs and is responsible for translation into tasks for the development/delivery team.


Principal duties and responsibilities:

Works cross-functionally with the GHX development teams, and translates market needs into specific tasks. Using technical expertise and collaborative skills, leads the team to ensure expected delivery dates are met.


· Acts as a liaison between the delivery team and business groups by communicating product and business vision, translating market needs into clear, well defined user stories.

· Collaborates with Product Managers and Internal Stakeholders to manage and prioritize work backlogs.

· Works with the development team to specify and scope features, as well as define acceptance criteria for those features.

· Work with Product Managers to understand and set the correct customer expectations regarding production delivery

· Works with Product Management to determine ongoing priorities and business values for functionality and stories.

· Works with Product Managers to develop high-level requirements for functionality, developed by outsourced partners, as needed.

· Accepts stories into the baseline, and accepts the iteration, as appropriate.

· Leads release planning.



Required Qualifications:

· B.S. degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related discipline/experience, or a combination of education and related work experience.

· 3+ years in a technical product management role.

· Experience working within an Agile methodology and demonstrated ability to effectively operate within an Agile team environment.

· Ability to work well with others and resolve any conflicts that may arise between different viewpoints.

· Ability to assess risks, dependencies, and identify mitigation strategies.

· High degree of technical capability.

· Sound project management skills, with well-developed organizational skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong team player.

· Skilled in leading meetings, setting agendas, driving decisions, and negotiating.
