intrado - Information Technology Supervisor

Responsible for supervising daily activities of assigned staff in providing quality technical services (e.g., database administration, database development, network services, system administration, telecommunications, etc.) which meet end user needs while adhering to department and Company policies, procedures, and methodologies; responsible for delegating and distributing workload to ensure staffing resources are properly distributed; coordinate and, as necessary, participate in activities associated with completing assigned projects or project tasks ensuring accomplishment of defined goals; ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
Education
Bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
Network Services: Minimum three years increasingly responsible experience in computer science or MIS required, which is to include two years network experience. Minimum one year lead or supervisory experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.
System Administration: Minimum three years increasingly responsible experience in computer science or MIS required, which is to include two years operating system experience. Minimum one year lead or supervisory experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.
Telecommunications: Minimum three years increasingly responsible experience in telecommunications required, which is to include two years telecommunications analysis experience. Minimum one year lead or supervisory experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.
Database Development/Administration: Minimum three years increasingly responsible experience in computer science or MIS required, which is to include two years database development or administration experience. Minimum one year lead or supervisory experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Network Services: Hardware: Switches, routers, CSU/DSU, West scripting environment Software: UNIX, Tandem, intrusion detection system, firewalls, Windows OS, IP telephony, network management systems and network analysis
System Administration: Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of: one program platform is required (Tandem, Windows, Unix, or Web) and/or one standard programming language is required e.g., C, SQL, Visual Basics, C++, COBOL, HTML, PERL, etc.)
Telecommunications: Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of Nortel Meridian options 51, 61, 81C, 11; Meridian MAX; Meridian Customer Controlled Routing (CCR); Meridian Link; Nortel Symposium and Web client; Adtran CSU/DSU products; Adtran MS2800 DS3 mux; Meridian mail; Cisco Call Manager; Unity voice mail systesm; AT&T DDM 100 DS3 mux; Optivity telephony manager; digital mulitplexing; digital cross-connect systems; voice switching systems such as TDM, ATM, and VOIP; telecommunications transmission systems; DS1 and DS3 test practices and equipment; telecommunications cabling systems and equipment, such as DS0, DS1, DS3, and fiber; Avaya ACD and associated products; SER predictive dialers; voice-over IP equipment and technologies; or ATM technologies and associated equipment is required
Database Development/Administration: Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of: one database is required (e.g. Informix, Oracle, or SQL Server) and SQL and one program platform (e.g. Unix/Linux, or Windows) and/or one standard programming language is required (e.g. Unix shell, PERL, etc.)
