The Solution Architect will architect systems and applications in
support of the Company's business initiatives. Additionally, the
Solution Architect will be responsible for creating standards and design
patterns for the Enterprise systems, linking Software as a Service
providers and internal systems in a cohesive and manageable way. This
is a key role that requires solid technical skills, business acumen,
attention to detail, and leadership ability. Demonstrated experience
developing business intelligence and reporting solutions are must-haves.
Strong project management skills are essential with the ability to
interface at the executive level within the company and with our
clients. Service oriented architecture design and development
experience is also a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



1. Refine and enhance existing Enterprise Architecture. This will
involve development of architectural standards, artifacts, and patterns
to support development of business domain services.

2. Responsible for adherence to defined architectural standards.

3. Provide architecture and design for development of upgrades and
enhancements to support the upgrade of MFI's enterprise information
systems. These systems are evolving from legacy, 2 tier applications to
a mixture of computing cloud and internally hosted applications that
must work as an integrated system.

4. Work closely with Marketing/Product Management in the design,
development, and delivery of software products that address client
requirements and meet internal quality standards, budgets, and
time-lines.

5. Architect, design and develop customer facing reporting
solutions, including the underlying data structures utilizing Endeca
technologies. These solutions will be designed with an emphasis on
performance, scalability, high-reliability and maintainability.

6. Architect, design, build, and maintain internal and customer
facing applications. These solutions will be designed in a Service
Oriented Architecture using Software as a Service (SaaS) model.
Integration of multiple computing cloud providers along with internally
hosted applications may be required.

7. Work closely with other Software Engineers, Network Architects,
Consulting Contractors, Database Administrators and Technical Writers to
successfully create and maintain other applications with an emphasis on
performance, scalability, high-reliability and maintainability.

8. Provide architectural guidance on the design and development of
a unit testing framework to support automated unit testing prior to the
quality assurance process.

9. Contribute to decisions that ensure that product offerings
remain competitive and continue to be viewed as world class.

10. Promote and reinforce a customer-driven philosophy within IT
department.

11. Analyze the performance of software applications and identify
alternatives for optimizing the usage of computer resources.

12. Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to
assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.

13. Maintain high-volume, multi-threaded messaging, redundant and
scalable application design, and SOA methodologies.

Qualifications:



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform

Education/Experience:



1. BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

2. 3 years Enterprise and/or Solution Architect experience.
3. 10+ years experience in full life-cycle software development.
4. Expert in web service design and development.
5. Expert in both functional and physical data modeling for
transactional and data warehousing/reporting solutions.
6. Passion for delivering high quality products.
7. Driven to achieve a high level of client and customer
satisfaction.
