ITT Visual Information Solutions is a leader in software solutions that

This position is responsible for creating new content for a technical
audience of scientists and application developers. This professional
interacts with software developers, quality engineers, technical support
staff, and other subject matter experts. The Technical Writer is an
important part of software development teams.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Writer produces documentation for a scientific programming
language (IDL) that focuses on data visualization and analysis. Duties
include:
* Research and plan projects
* Document the application programming interface (API)
* Develop working code examples and complex tutorials
* Explain new language features and how to use them
* Develop expertise in one or more aspects of the products being
documented
* Participate in (Agile Scrum) project teams to deliver
documentation under tight deadlines
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in computer science and programming
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent technical and organizational skills
* Bachelor's Degree in technical writing, English, or the sciences,
or equivalent experience
* 3-5 years' technical writing experience
* Experience with Madcap Flare or HTML help-based systems
* Understanding of documentation and software development processes
* Excellent writing and editing skills
* Ability to quickly learn and understand software applications and
languages
