Expected Contributions to the Role
The position has responsibility to provide the development team with
expertise in the design and implementation of application server
multi-node support into the core platform. Responsibilities also
include training of other members of the development team through
hands-on tutorial and the creation of supporting documentation.

Major Areas of Accountability that Support Contributions
• Ability to work in a streamlined, dynamic, fast-paced
environment.
• Be self-motivated, positively-focused, collaborative and
highly organized.
 Demonstrate leadership in helping to establish a plan for
development and rollout of application server multi-node support.
 Create documentation of the platform integration, including
representative usage examples.
 Perform hands-on training of the multi-node support to other
members of the development team.
 Ability to work in an Agile product development process,
attending daily stand-ups, sprint review/kick-off meetings and
project reviews.
 Communicate status clearly to manager and team.
• Respect for the Quality Assurance process and ability to work
cooperatively with the test team.

Education/Training and experience

• In-depth knowledge of application server multi-node support
implementation.
• Experience in 2-3 start-to-finish multi-node support
initiatives.
• Experience in documenting at least 1 said initiative.
• Minimum 6 years working in application server business
process development.
• Experience with Tomcat, Glassfish, JBoss and/or WebLogic.
• Previous focus in a product environment (non-IT application
focus).
• Ability to accurately estimate project durations and meet
schedules.
• Solid understanding of OO principles and software development
processes.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Required Skills and Technologies
• Java, Tomcat/Glassfish/JBoss/WebLogic, ant/Maven,
JUnit/TestNG, service-oriented architecture

Desired Skills and Technologies
• Spring framework, iterative/Agile development processes,
software-as-a-service

Job Description
You will be working as a software engineer in small project teams and
have the opportunity to make an impact to InfoNow and our customers
by delivering quality, timely solutions.

The job consists of using software engineering best practices for
designing, implementing, documenting, and testing new features, bug
fixes and enhancements for the user interfaces of the Channel Insight
and Location Insight products.

You must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and be capable of
juggling multiple priorities. It is essential that you are able to
deliver as an individual contributor while also assisting others when
that is called for. Being highly self-motivated and a quick learner
is also important. You will be working closely with other software
engineers, development and product managers, and our QA/test team. No
travel is required.


Required Skills and Technologies
XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and knowledge of cross-browser compatibility.

JSP, JSTL, AJAX, User Interface and Graphics Design

Primary Responsibilities
• Maintain web user interfaces for InfoNow's Channel Insight
and Location Insight products.
• Designing, implementing, and enhancing web user interfaces
InfoNow's Channel Insight and Location Insight products.
• Apply software engineering best practices in an iterative
fashion to meet and deliver on user interface requirements
• Provide clear progress reporting to peers and supervisors,
and proactively offer suggestions for improvements
• Partner in a team environment and be a strong individual
contributor
Job Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years experience in a product development role,
preferably in a commercial software product/service company.
Experience in hosted environments a plus.
• Minimum 5 years experience with web user interface
technologies, including XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good process skills, experience in participating in design
and code reviews.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
preferred; Master's degree a plus.
