Job description:Collect America is a growing asset management company located in the Denver Tech Center. We have proven ourselves to be a leader in the financial market by attracting and retaining motivated, hardworking and creative team players. Due to our growth and leadership, we are currently seeking a Linux Administrator to support our IT Team. This person will maintain our organization's Unix operating systems and it's user administration. They will also analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware and applications software by detecting, diagnosing, and resolving UNIX related problems on servers. This person will also serve as backup to the Backup Administrator (ie. Manage Sun T2000, Netbackup software and STK tape libraries).


Duties and responsibilities of this position will include:
** Administration, configuration management and operational maintenance of Unix systems
** Monitor system performance and perform fine tuning as necessary
** Administer servers and peripheral equipment
** Responsible for data backups/restores and integrity
** Assist in maintaining data integrity and backup systems
** Complete system operational checklists
** Apart of a team responding to system alerts 24 x 7
** Must assume on call support on a rotating basis, weekends and after hours
** Other tasks as assigned


Skills/Requirements/Education we are looking for:
** Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering and/or equivalent work experience
** 3-5 Years experience as Linux administrator
** 3-5 years supporting production systems
** Strong knowledge of Linux (Redhat, Oracle) and Solaris
** DNS and domain name administration experience
** Front line troubleshooting experience
** Scripting, tuning and performance monitoring experience
** Backup and Disaster Recovery experience a plus
** A self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment
** Experience in planning, implementing and supporting Unix server solutions
** Experience maintaining audit system compliance
** Knowledgeable with local area networking and TCP/IP concepts
** Excellent communications skills with customers and vendors
** Experience with system upgrades and patches
** Be able to lift 50 to 75 pounds above head for rack mounted server installation
** Overnight travel occasionally required < 10%
** Flexible work schedule may be required to maintain project timelines and schedules
