DATA WAREHOUSE DATA QUALITY ANALYST (TESTER)
LOCATION: Broomfield, CO (North American Corporate Headquarters)
JOB SUMMARY:
Join the Data Warehouse Development Team by participating and owning a variety of reporting and batch process application testing tasks across projects, releases and applications owners. Experience in data warehousing and decision support testing is a must, coupled with data setup work and relational databases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Coordination of the Test Environment creation and setup, including data elements, third party applications and scripts
o Create and maintain system test plans, scorecards and go live documents
o Support and maintenance of daily rotations in test environments
o Participate in functional/technical design meetings
o Perform System, Regression, Assembly, Integration and Performance testing
o Maintain defect status and description in ClearQuest.
o Provide feedback to developers on data quality issues and performance.
o Prepare Integration Test Strategy Plans & Integration Regression scorecards for a Release
o Partner with systems development teams for large-scale load testing projects
o Develop automated testing scripts to improve testing effectiveness and productivity
o Ensure good team communications within QE and across IS department
Data Warehouse Team General Responsibilities
o Recommend, develop, document and implement process improvements
o Document, educate & train others in processes & standards
o Escalate critical software quality issues to departmental and release management
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Technical
o Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
o Must have prior testing experience and/or programming experience
o System testing and/or quality assurance experience is required
o Minimum one (1) year of experience in Unix, Oracle SQL, scripting, MS Access required.
o Experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools a plus.
o Ability to work with large volume tables and create queries using MS Access & Oracle SQL.
o Working knowledge of relational databases and Data Warehouse concepts
o Ability to navigate and work in both UNIX and Windows environments.
o Experience with trouble-shooting data and software issues.
o Strong analytical skills a must.
EDUCATION & OTHER:
o 4-year college degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, and a minimum of 3 years experience
o Must be able to work in a team environment yet be self-directed, proactive, and action-oriented
