Job description:Provide timely and quality database services and problem resolution for internal and external customers, and manage implementation efforts of a database nature in direct cooperation with development and QA. Provide tier 3 support to our production and development teams. Perform Oracle installations, upgrades, migrations, file organizations and back-ups. Install and integrate data access tools such as SQL net. Audit database capacity and performance. Manage projects involving cross-functional teams and resources.

Responsibilities
** Manage the execution of Oracle administrative tasks; software installation, software customization, backup and recovery management, audit database capacity and performance.
** Implementation and support of Oracle RAC/Grid Control
** Troubleshooting oracle system level issues such as: crashes due to devices failures, corruption, lock handling, recovery, etc.
** Provide Tier 3 support to the production team
** Logical to physical data model implementation.

Qualifications

** Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in CS or related discipline
** 6 years experience in Oracle Data Administration on Solaris/Linux
** Must be able to administer multi-tier database and spot performance bottle necks in a multi oracle instance environment
** Very strong ASCII SQL and Oracle Pl/sql skills with reporting creativity and diverse solution mind
** Pervious development experience using C/C++, object oriented, java/jsp knowledge, and UNIX/Solaris is a plus
** Microsoft SQL knowledge a plus
** Experience of Oracle Administrative tools like Embarcadero, SpotLight, etc.
** Experience in troubleshooting oracle system level issues such as: crashes due to devices failures, corruption, lock handling, recovery, etc.

The person hired will architect, document and manage database solutions for processing large volumes of data from disparate sources in near-real-time. As Oracle Database Architect you will play a key role in the infrastructure organization by defining data requirements and managing resources to implement solutions. You will be responsible for developing changes to the underlying data model, ensuring that existing customer data is preserved between major releases and creating long term data archiving and disaster recovery architectures.

Responsibilities
** Perform senior database management activities and be responsible for carrying out and implementing designs.
** Design Oracle & SQL database environments that comply with business requirements for data throughput and availability.
** Set database technology direction, proposing to management a set of software, hardware, and additional capabilities for data storage, backup, recovery, and data warehousing.
** Measure and maintain database systems to meet specified performance and storage requirements.
** Review and/or design database architectures needed to support newly proposed or purchased software applications.
** Meeting system level performance as defined by Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Assisting with and developing SLAs where necessary
** Monitoring computer systems performance, capacity, and integration with other systems through data gathering, metrics reporting, trending, and assessment (including SLA compliance)
** Driving data throughput improvements and data base tuning
** Presenting system changes to the appropriate review boards
Documenting configuration and maintaining configuration control.
Providing strategic planning to optimize use of resources.

Qualifications
** BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent level of demonstrated knowledge with 4 years of Management experience.
** Extensive hands-on experience in large-scale analytical data management systems involving parallel processing and clustering techniques using Oracle RDBMS. Similar experience with SQL Server highly desirable.
** In-depth experience with database design, I/O sub-system tuning for best performance (data file layout, RAID configuration, etc.), performance-tuning of database SQL code, and application installation and configuration for Oracle applications.
** Extensive experience supporting multiple environments, such as development, test, staging and production.
** Specific and advanced experience required in the following areas: optimizing databases/database servers, backup/recovery (point-in-time recovery), security architecture, RAC 9i.
** Demonstrated excellent communication skills necessary to present ideas to management and staff with varying levels of Oracle/SQL knowledge and experience.
