Primary Duties: Trimble is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Test Engineer in the construction, mobile asset market space. Reporting to the Lead Test Engineer and Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer will be responsible to develop firmware test codes for testing of telemetric solutions. The Test Engineer will enjoy daily challenges to demonstrate product features and identify `bugs' via exceptional engineering and leadership skills of white box, grey box, and black box testing. The incumbent will be expected to: •Plan, peer-review, and publish test plans, testing status, and test reports. •Efficiently execute lab testing regimes and effectively qualify product functionality and behaviors with respect to specifications and requirements. •Develop unit test cases for code level testing •Implement test cases for hardware verification testing and End-of-Line manufacturing testing Proficiency to identify HW and FW issues, and contribute to issue management and resolutions. •Develop, write, and maintain test codes, test automation scripts and/or programs. •Contribute to continual improvements in our system development life cycle tool chain and organizational culture.
The ideal candidate for this Test Engineer role will also have keen interpersonal skills, a commitment to quality and quality practices, and engineering aptitude in hardware and firmware domains. Additionally, the successful Test Engineer will have industry professional experience in telematics enabling technologies including GPS, GSM GPRS/EDGE/3G, WiFi, BlueTooth, CAN J1939, Ethernet, and serial communications

Education requirements: BS degree in related field

Experience requirements (years): 4-8

Skill requirements: Software programming and scripting that deliver quality testing and data analysis methods and efficiencies. C,C++, Python, are required competencies. Excellent written and spoken communication and collaboration skills. Objectivity and analytical methodologies to swiftly identify issues among HW and FW domains. Experience and knowledge in our enabling technologies. (GPS, GSM GPRS/EDGE/3G, WiFi, BlueTooth, CAN, Ethernet, and serial communications). Must be able to develop and maintain test cases for both FW and HW testing (white box, black box).
