Primary Duties: Trimble is seeking an enthusiastic and creative, mid-senior level Embedded Firmware Engineers. This position entails design, development, and implementation of in-vehicle device firmware for GPS-enabled tracking and mobile asset management purposes. These devices depend on a broad range of wireless communication protocols to accomplish their tasks.
Required Skills: -Hands-on embedded firmware experience for portable devices for wireless applications -Fluent in objected-oriented C++ for embedded firmware, and C for driver development -Strong embedded operating systems knowledge such as Linux, eCOS and uCOS II. Development of embedded codes on ARM's and MSP430 platform for data acquisition and communications throughout different wireless networks (includes GPS, HSDPA, Sat-Com, 802.11 WiFi client, etc) -Digital communications interfaces and protocols (includes USB, CAN, Ethernet, UARTs). -Capabilities in integrating USB, and TCP/IP stack into the RTOS. Hands-on applications codes development for the wireless and wire digital interfaces -Debugging experience in a multithreaded environment. Following software development methodology and process to enhance and improve product performance -Highly motivated and self starter. Ability to work on multiple projects in a tight schedule -Ability to travel (domestic or international) 20-25% of the time

Desired Skills: -Firmware architecture design skill and partition knowledge a plus. -C#/Mono experience. Knowledge of proprietary CAN bus protocol -An understanding of IP routing and Wireless infrastructure

Position Requirements: You will be functioning as a member of a cross disciplinary team, and previous exposure to elements of embedded firmware design for portable devices will be a strong plus. Minimum of BS degree in EE, CS, or a related field with 8-10 years hands-on FW design experiences is required. Preference will be given to those applicants who demonstrate the ability to function well as a team member. In the initial employment phase the candidate has to be prepared to spend a significant time traveling to and staying at other company R&D locations.

The Information Security Engineer is responsible for envisioning and taking steps to implement the controls needed to protect both VirtualSite Solutions (VSS) information as well as information that have been entrusted to VSS by its parent organizations. The position involves overall VSS responsibility for information security. Establish and administer an effective information security program that addresses information systems vulnerabilities and threats. Acts as the central point of contact within VSS for all communications related to information security problems, issues and concerns.

Understands the fundamental business activities performed by VSS, and based on this understanding and direction from executive/senior management, suggests appropriate information security solutions that uniquely protect these activities. Coordinates and directs the development, management approval, implementation, and communication of security objectives, goals, policies, standards, guidelines, and other requirements needed to support information security throughout VSS including applications, database, servers, etc on intranets and extranets. Performs and/or oversees the performance of periodic risk assessments and audits that identify current and future security vulnerabilities. Recommends remediation plans and solutions to management. Explains risks in a business-oriented, non-technical manner for Executive/Senior Leadership to make risk acceptance decisions. Brings pressing information security vulnerabilities with recommended mitigation options to top management's attention so that immediate remedial action can be taken Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with the various VSS business units (and parent organizations) involved with information security matters (Legal, Internal Audit, Human Resources, etc.) Advises on the education of individual information security responsibilities and accountability so that necessary information security activities are performed as needed, according to pre-established polices and standards Provides security related education and awareness for VSS Coordinates the information security efforts of all internal groups that have one or more information security-related responsibilities, to ensure that organization-wide information security efforts are consistent across the organization, and that duplication of effort is avoided Initiates and manages special projects related to information security that may be needed to appropriately respond to ad-hoc or unexpected information security events Acts as the primary liaison regarding the work of information security consultants, contractors and outsourcing firms

Position Requirements: Bachelors or Masters in IT/MIS/CS, or equivalent with 8 years of experience in IT CISSP, CISA, CISM, ISSAP or equivalent Professional Certification 4+ years in information security planning & operations. Experience in planning, designing, establishing and managing a security program for the enterprise. 4+ years experience conducting security assessments, technology reviews and application requirements analysis from a security design perspective. 2+ years experience with technical task management in roles as Technical Lead and/or Subject Matter Expert. Good knowledge of SDLC, IT governance and operations Experience with various Microsoft technologies as it relates to security including Active Directory, Group Policy, dotNet, etc. Experience with various operating systems such as Windows, Unix (HP, SCO, etc), and Linux Experience with various Web and application server such as IIS, Apache, WebSphere, Weblogic, etc. Experience with various DBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc. Knowledgeable with WAN/LAN/VLAN/WLAN design, and implementation. Knowledgeable with network security and data encryption. Experience with network infrastructure firewalls, switches, routers, VPN equipment, RAS, DHCP, WINS, DNS and SMTP gateways Ability to articulate complex technical issues to non-technical people Strong organizational, analytical, conceptual, decision making and project management skills Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and negotiation skills Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner with stakeholders to identify and implement technology solutions Knowledge of financial estimation & modeling as it pertains to IT investment Travel and off-hours on-call support as required
