FirstBank - Oracle Development Database Administrator

FirstBank has a full-time position available for an experienced Oracle Development Database Administrator. If you are looking for a challenging career with a stable and growing company, this may be the right position for you.

What you will be doing:

* Participate in logical and physical model design workshops
* Create physical databases using sound RDBMS principles
* Maintain databases by monitoring and tuning performance variables
* Implement, test, and maintain backup and restore procedures
* Design, develop, test, and implement Oracle development scripts using SQL, PL/SQL, and Bulk-load utilities
* Apply patches as needed and participate in database upgrades
* Work with development teams in database design process and suggest database design best practices through all phases of SDLC
* Research, test, and recommend tools related to database administration; instructs and assists application developers on the use of database features
* Provide 7X24 on call rotation support for mission critical databases
* Investigate and resolve simple to medium complexity database issues


What you need to have:

* Strong organizational skills; experience managing projects and balancing responsibilities of multiple projects
* Strong understanding of RDBMS and physical database design
* In depth knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g database and architecture
* Strong understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager utilities
* Good knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling phases; moderate experience with Data Modeling tools such as Sybase PowerDesigner
* Strong knowledge of coding in and troubleshooting SQL and PL/SQL, and database access methods from Java and .Net based frameworks
* Knowledge of scripting in Linux, and Windows OS
* Willingness to work with developers in regard to normalization of data structures, promotion of objects through the database landscape and optimization of SQL queries
* Understanding of code management, and database change management
* 5-7 years of Oracle development and production DBA experience
