SUMMARY

Executes a wide variety of quality assurance tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and requirements. Makes certain that all specified requirements are translated into a set of documented testing materials so that thorough testing is undertaken to guarantee a quality solution has been developed for clients.

JOB DUTIES

Works collaboratively with functional area experts, develops necessary testing materials including: test plans, test cases, testing traceability matrices, testing summaries and testing scorecards and other materials required for the quality assurance testing of software.

Perform hands-on execution of complex tests according to testing standards. Document problems in an issue log, communicate results, and retest software corrections to ensure problems are resolved. Ensure that all tests thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow using valid and invalid data records.

Ensure that tests are well-matched to the needs of the project and systems. Share and review testing materials and testing results with all key parties prior to and after testing is completed, obtaining sign-off on all deliverables. Make certain test results are of benchmark quality prior to final sign-off.

Employ best practices for testing. Proactively identify and recommend changes to enhance the effectiveness of quality assurance strategies and methodologies.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree in computer science, business administration, or engineering or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 3 years of broad based information systems experience with a minimum of 2 years experience of quality assurance testing.

Solid understanding of software project development concepts and quality control methodologies is essential.

Familiarity with web applications and the client server environment is required.

Experience testing mission critical software applications such as claims processing, transactional banking systems, web portals, extracts and loads is preferred.

Proven track record of assisting with and leading test planning and execution for mission critical applications.
Experience with Test Director and WinRunner is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Provide and maintain excellent client /customer satisfaction.

Provide, promote and maintain excellent interdepartmental relationships and communication with all levels of employees.

This position requires the ability to see the details, including color, of information on a computer screen and on printed reports and the ability to use a keyboard and a computer pointing device like a mouse.

Receives general assignments with few instructions and operates with limited independence.
