SENIOR APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST

LOCATION: This position is available at the US Corporate Headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Application Support

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Shift is 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday- Friday (Some weekends and evenings on call).
o The ISIS Application Support team is responsible for the integrity,
performance, and reliability of all ISIS applications including InVision, WMS, EWAY, Insight, E3 (AS400) and the Data Warehouse.
o On call with a pager 2 weeks every ~ 2 months. (1 week of nights on-call, 1 week of days on-call)
o Monitoring of Maestro job scheduler. (Maestro, Cron, etc)
o Will have alternating responsibility for code deployment into production environment at CE. This will require cross team planning and coordination.
o Work on field requests (tickets) to resolve data issues, debug code problems, work to improve the monitoring of the ISIS systems and overall performance.
o Support for JBOSS, Tuxedo, EAI, Oracle and other platforms utilized within our environments. Activities include: capacity planning, software installation strategies, performance tuning, stability, documentation, creation of monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
o Create and perform updates to SQL queries. Understanding of code to be able to troubleshoot problem areas.
o Will be working with mid-ware Tuxedo monitoring system queuing and stats.
o Will be writing Access queries and updating production data.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
o Minimum 5 years IT experience
o Minimum 5 years Unix / AIX experience
o Strong problem solving skills and a desire to learn and improve skills.
o Strong skills in SQL script writing.
o Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
o Must be able to multi task, as the support environment requires attention across multiple areas.
o Ability to build good rapport with team members and field staff.
o Working knowledge of UNIX, SQL and MS Office tools including MS Access.
o Understanding of a relational data model.
o Project Management skills helpful.
o Strong customer service and communication skills.

INTEGRATION APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST

LOCATION: US Headquarters - Broomfield, Colorado

OVERVIEW:
Integration Application Support team is responsible for supporting and maintaining infrastructure used in integrating Corporate Express' strategic systems

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
** Research problem tickets to resolve data, account setup, code issues, and implement processes to prevent repetitive issues
** Monitor automated system alerts, log files, and other Application Support monitoring tools
** Maintain and improve performance, reliability and monitoring of all
Integration Architecture systems; includes webMethods applications (Enterprise Server and Integration Server), BEA platform (Portal and WLI) customized open-source components (Apache / Tomcat, Jboss and Java Send Code) and other 3rd
Party vendor applications
** Implement weekly code releases and emergency code promotions
** Participate in promotion of monthly code releases
** Assist in providing 24x7 support by participating in weekly on-call rotation
** Interact with Service Desk, other Application Support teams, as well as Operations and Development groups
** Work on projects to better improve Application Support model
** Responsible for understanding full business process, from order entry to billing
** Assist in prioritization of enhancement and defect resolution
** Research and identify potential code defects

REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
Required
** Minimum of 2 years experience in a Tier II Application Support role, or equivalent
** Strong Unix and scripting skills
** Excellent diagnostic, debugging, and problem solving skills
** Familiarity with Java
** Understanding of servers, networks, security, client/server model
** Strong understanding of Oracle or relational databases and PL/SQL
** Ability to communicate with various levels of technical experience
(developers/ operations/ end users/ support staff)
** Understanding of traditional software development life cycle and problem tracking systems
** Ability to work in team environment, while being self-directed, proactive and action oriented
** Familiarity with Relational Database tools
** Familiarity with Windows and MS Office Suite

Desired
** Unix scripting (Korn shell, Perl)
** 4 year college degree in IS or related field
** Development/ programming experience
** Experience with webMethods B2B and EAI tools
** Experience with BEA platform
