Automation QA Manager

Webroot is currently seeking an Automation QA Manager who will be
hands-on and manage a team of software quality automation engineers to
ensure that the company's products meet total quality management and
reliability standards. This position requires research and
implementation of new or improved testing methods, processes, tools and
procedures. This person is also responsible for the hiring, performance
appraisals and pay reviews of the team. The successful candidate will
thrive in a high-energy company, should have a passion for automation,
driving code quality, taking ownership of new problems, and be able to
think through and solve complex issues. The candidate should be a
flexible, highly independent worker as well as an excellent team player,
and able to work efficiently under schedule deadlines.



RESPONSIBILITIES

* Review Feature Specifications for test scenarios requiring
tools and automation.

* Review current test plans, test cases, and test procedures and
provide automation wherever possible.

* Develop software architecture and design specifications for
all automation projects.

* Maintain existing automation scripts and potentially rewrite
the scripts using other automation tools.

* Design and develop new performance, load, data set,
application and simulation tools.

* Design and develop automation harnesses, testing extensions,
and automation libraries.

* Design and develop interactive results analysis viewers.
Track quality assurance metrics. Provide code coverage analysis
metrics.

* Encourage best practices and sound design principles.

* Define and enhance QA processes methodologies. Ensure
established standards, processes and procedures are used consistently
throughout the system development life cycle.

* Ensure on-time delivery of deliverables

* Write efficient, easy to follow documentation on all tools,
scripts and processes.

* Train other departments on the use of custom developed tools
and automation scripts.

* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members



REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Masters or Bachelor's Degrees in Technology with experience in
the Security Industry a plus.

* 7+ years of continuous software development (Agile experience
desirable), whitebox and automation testing experience with a track
record on technically demanding projects

* 5+ years of management experience.

* 5+ years experience writing Test Scripts (i.e. Perl, Python,
TCL), Web development, communication protocols (i.e. HTTP, Sockets,
TCP/IP, and SSL) and delivering Consumer and/or Enterprise class
software.

* Experience working in Windows and Unix/Linux environments.

* Experience with Application servers (e.g. Tomcat, Weblogic,
WebSphere, JBoss) and with SQL (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL)

* Experience with automation and load generation /measurement
software (e.g. LoadRunner, JMeter, Silk, Selenium, QTP)

* Experience with performance measurement tools, code coverage
analysis and testing methodologies.

* Excellent verbal/written communication, organization,
leadership skills, and trouble-shooting skills.

* Team Player with a proactive, positive attitude, ability to
work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal
supervision.
