Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description:
As a QA Engineer, you will work directly with Business Analysts and IT
Management to help ensure business, technical and functional
requirements are complete and testable. Specifically, you will:
* Develop and execute test plans, test cases and scripts. The type
of tests performed will vary by project but may include functional
testing, integration testing, regression testing, data integrity testing
and stress testing as well as assisting with user acceptance testing.
* Identify and log defects into the defect tracking system and
capture steps to reproduce (actual vs. expected) and relevant details of
the issue.
* Investigate root cause of issues through analysis of log files,
databases and environments.
* Verify resolutions of tickets through retesting and management
and assignment of ticket as required.
* Work with development and DBAs to help reproduce and further
clarify logged issues.
* Demo the finished product to end users and other IT members.
* Participate in daily stand ups.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently executing test cases while working
collaboratively with various IT groups as well as business owners.
* Proven ability to develop effective test plans and scripts. Be
prepared to bring samples to discuss.
* Experience with iterative development. Experience with Agile
methodologies such as Scrum a plus.
* Strong SQL and Oracle database experience including the ability
to create queries to validate data integrity and other data constraints.
* Familiarity with the .NET Framework (C# and ASP.NET) including
the ability to understand code layout and flow.
* 5+ years experience in a Quality Assurance or Testing role.
* Familiarity with Unix operating systems is a plus.
* Manual testing experience required. Understanding and
experience with commercial automation tools a plus.
* Experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
