Senior APEX Oracle Programmer/Analyst Position

Duties

· Support and enhance NREL's APEX Oracle Applications including: Policies and Procedures and Human Resources Training Database.

· Apply business requirements knowledge to determine development needs for implementing APEX Oracle Application systems and/or other integrated systems using best business practices.

· Identify opportunities to provide innovative information system solutions, including web-based entry, workflow notifications and processes.

· Design and/or implement application systems that are flexible, efficient and intuitive to use, easy to maintain, and are consistent with NREL standards.

· Use project management methodologies, tools and industry best practices to provide clear and current project plans and status to clients and IS management.

· Facilitate communication and decision making amongst a diverse group of technical and functional staff related to business systems.

· Provide application analysts and customers with information and guidance regarding business process redesign methods and systems implementation standards.



Project Background

NREL is looking for an individual to help with modifying and developing new APEX Oracle applications, helping with implementing best practices, security, and standards around these applications. Individual must be well versed in other areas of Oracle applications development including forms development and workflow processing.



Requirements

Seeking a senior level APEX Oracle application/integration developer with strong technical and problem solving skills to provide assistance and ideas for NREL's new APEX systems and help with new development and testing as needed. This individual would work closely with staff to enhance the existing applications and provide maintenance strategies to ensure system stability and flexibility. This individual would need to be able to provide training for our staff on APEX design and development. Specific experience and abilities include:



· A Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or other relevant discipline; or equivalent experience.

A minimum of ten years of progressive business systems analysis, design, and Oracle programming experience

· working with large-scale integrated business systems.

· Good understanding of Oracle PL/SQL, Forms and Reports, and Workflow programming.

· Broad knowledge of the integration dependencies between Oracle Financials (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Inventory) and Human Resources systems.

· Strong understanding of the configuration requirements and integration dependencies of Oracle Applications and the ability to review, modify, test, and implement changes.

· Demonstrated experience as a functional and technical resource on Oracle Application software implementations.

· Demonstrated knowledge of APEX application systems development and testing techniques.

· Proven project leadership, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

· Experience providing high-quality customer service and maintaining good customer relationships with management, clients, and coworkers.

· Ability to work independently and with a group.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to effectively balance multiple competing priorities and work activities simultaneously.

· Proficiency using standard PC-based business software (i.e., MS-Office) including spreadsheet, word-processing, presentation, flow diagram and project management software.

· Ability to work with Interactive reports, programmatic elements like validtions, computations, processes, dynamic SQL etc.

· Demonstrated knowledge of security within APEX and authentication, conditional security, access control & authorization, read only items and data security.

· Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript and Ajax within APEX.

· Demonstrated knowledge of working with and developing standards around APEX applications and implementing of Best Practices.

· Demonstrated knowledge of performance tuning within the APEX environment including debugging, timings, page and region caching.
