VP, Hosting Infrastructure - DTC location

Responsible for leading the Hosting Infrastructure organization that
consists of data center planning and management; computer operations
and batch scheduling with firs level production support; disaster
recovery management; corporate and hosting network design and
management; Unix and Windows administration; Sybase, SQL, and Oracle
database management; storage administration; proactive monitoring;
and HW/SW inventory, procurement, and installation.
Additional responsibilities include:
Customer Service
- Ensure high levels of availability on all technologies in
organization
- Ensure appropriate capacity is available for all technologies in
organization
- Ensure appropriate performance is being met on all components in
organization.
- Ensure that appropriate metrics are in place to effectively
measure customer satisfaction indicators.
Financials
- Oversee operating budget including staffing, travel, training,
operating leases, facilities costs, HW/SW maintenance, computer
supplies, and miscellaneous expenses.
- Coordinate capital requirements for all of Hosting
- Represent Hosting on Capital Review Team
- Manage support and expenses associated with vendors
- Ensure that all equipment ordered is done in the most cost
effective manner
Employee Satisfaction
- Ensure six direct reports have appropriate objectives, training,
and skills to lead their teams
- Mentor direct reports as well as several other team members in the
organization
- Address employee issues in a proactive and positive manner
Requirements:
- 5-10 years experience in the Service Provider Industry and
understands how to serve for-profit customers
- Ability to work in a high-performance culture
- Previous experience handling $40M+ budgets
- Previous experience managing multiple medium to large data centers
using the ITIL framework
- A background in leading a team using quality principles including
root cause analysis, managing by data, and a process driven approach
- Experience leading large teams (200+ employees)
- Knowledge of multiple database software, preferably Sybase,
Oracle, and SQL
- Experience managing a large and complex storage environment
- Experience implementing and leveraging offshore resources
- Understands the implication of and provides support for multi-
discipline teams that are required to work 7x24x365
