Software Development Manager
Responsibilities:
* Perform all aspects of management including hiring, training,
evaluating and disciplining of current development team of
approximately
20+ developers.
* Perform resource management to ensure that resources are fully
utilized and are meeting project requirements.
* Work with all IT groups and Business Partners to identify and
coordinate the development of software solutions that meet business
requirements.
* Work closely with the Architecture team and the CTO to determine
architecture direction and project specific design.
* Perform mentoring and coaching for all developers and establish
appropriate training programs.
* Track and communicate all group activity and assist in refining
project management and tracking processes.
* Establish and maintain good development practices, processes and
methodologies.
Position Requirements:
* 7-10 years of experience in object oriented software development (5+
Years managing software developers and software development teams.
* Knowledgeable about using and implementing various development
methodologies. (Agile, RUP, etc)
* Solid experience in managing .Net development teams (Hiring,
developing, tasks assignments, training, disciplining, etc)
* Solid understanding of Object Oriented design and development
including model abstraction and the usage of design patterns.
* Significant experience in code versioning and management. (e.g.
release management and binary compatibility)
* Strong coding background (C#, C/C++, Java and/or other languages.)
* Solid background in database design and development.
* Knowledge of UML for use-case modeling, sequence diagramming, entity
relationship and object modeling.
* Understanding of enterprise software development (RMI paradigm,
multithreading, enterprise design patterns, etc)
* Experience developing enterprise application on various frameworks
Desired Skills
* SMS and WAP development experience
* Familiarity with fundamental wireless technologies
* Bachelors/Masters/Technical Degree (CS, EE, EECS or Equivalent).
* Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP.
