Provide accurate and timely results concerning product quality. Pro-
actively address the needs of assigned projects through accurate and
aggressive testing. Assist department personnel in test planning and
problem resolution. The position also requires effective written and
verbal communications skills.
Expected Contributions to the Corporation
The Tester position has responsibility to support the positioning of
InfoNow as a premier service and solution provider by maintaining
high quality standards.
Major Areas of Accountability that Support Contributions
Demonstrate a pro-active approach to gaining knowledge and
performing testing activities needed for product and client level
tests.
Create and update testing documentation, including test
cases, test plans and reports.
Perform manual and automated testing based upon test cases,
test plan and bug fixes.
Attend product design and review session ensuring
testability of product.
Recognize and adjust activities based upon current client
and product needs.
Help in creating automated test scritps for functional
testing and stress/load testing.
Communicate status clearly to project managers and testing
staff.
Great understanding of products requirements and its uses in
the industry.
• Highly organized
• Good communication skills and an ability to drive quality
issues to resolution are essential
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Education/Training
Overall knowledge of software life cycle, process flow, QA
documentation, testing methods and defect tracking.
Experience
2-3 years working experience in software testing, quality assurance,
or software development.
Ability to handle diverse projects in a fast-paced environment.
5-7 years of experience with SQL, database structures,
5-7 years with at least one flavor of UNIX.
2-3 years of experience with a defect tracking tool and a source
control system.
5-7 years of document test cases and test results.
2-3 years testing web applications.
Broad experience in testing and working on technical
systems and projects
Strong problem solving & investigative skills
Preferred Qualifications and Requirements
Education/Training
Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer
Science, or related field.
Experience
• 3-5 years working experience in commercial software product
testing, quality assurance, or software development.
• Ability to handle diverse projects in a fast-paced
environment.
• Experience with testing web based and server side
applications.
• 3 or more years of experience with Silk Test.
• 3-5 year of experience with SQL, database structures, XML
and at least one flavor of UNIX.
• 3-5 year of experience with a defect tracking tool and a
source control system.
• Experience with developing international software products
and general skills with one or more of the following languages:
French, Italian, German and Spanish.
• Ability to accurately estimate test plan durations and meet
schedules.
• Experience testing in an environment with xp, scrum or agile
development processes.
Expected Contributions to the Corporation
Promote and facilitate the use of Business Intelligence systems as
an integral and valuable service offering within the InfoNow suite of
products; Provide Sales and Pre-Sales support throughout the RFP and
Sales cycles; Maintain and enhance reporting demos; Support corporate
revenue growth and profitability objectives; Desires and exhibits
ownership of end-to-end success of reporting activity.
Major Areas of Accountability that Support Contributions
• Complete tasks with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• ETL and Data Warehouse development
• Ongoing operational support to all reporting processes
• Daily data collection and processing
• Maintain daily loading of data logs into databases and monitoring
BI systems
• Accuracy and availability of reporting information
• Implementation of reporting solutions for clients
• As necessary communication with internal and external clients via
instant message, email, and telephone
• Administration and Monitoring of business intelligence systems
• Collaborate closely with multiple groups to define client
reporting solutions
• Handle Ad-Hoc requests from internal and external clients in a
timely manner
