The Manager, Software Engineering will oversee the development and
business intelligence functions within the Corporate Information
Systems Applications (IT) department. In addition, this individual
is expected to provide overall leadership of and direction for the
Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse (DW) development
effort. A proven track record of successful data warehouse
implementations is required.


The Manager will have overall management responsibility for the day-
to-day activities of the development and data warehouse teams to
ensure the following:

· Complete understanding, oversight, and implementation of the
software development lifecycle;

· Ensure quality standards are met and/or exceeded on a consistent
basis;

· Responsible for developing status updates, reports, and metrics on
an as-requested and regularly scheduled basis;

· Responsible for the overall management of team that develops and
maintains enterprise applications such as Oracle ERP, web sites
(intranet and internet), TeamTrack, and Onyx;

· Responsible for the overall management of staff members including
performance assessment, work assignments, salary recommendations,
and recognition/disciplinary actions.


Business Intelligence (Data Warehouse) responsibilities will
include:

· Leadership of the architecture team that will provide direction,
goals, and focus of activity for the data warehouse team;

· Definition of architecture deliverables including the form,
content, and structure of deliverables necessary to produce an
enterprise data warehouse architecture;

· Identifying the data, business, technical, process, and project
components of enterprise data warehouse architecture;

· Development of business measures needed to quantify business
value;

· Obtaining and maintaining business support;

· Implementation of the data warehouse;

· Project oversight to ensure success, prioritization, and
coordination of dependencies among development projects;

· Advise on project schedules, sequences, and budgets;

· Tracking and reporting ROI.


Qualifications

· 5+ years IT project management experience, required;

· 5+ years of data warehousing experience, required;

· 5+ years of managing the development of extensions and
upgrades/maintenance for COTS applications such as Oracle ERP,
required;

· Previous management experience including oversight of a team
including Software Engineers, Business Analysts, and Application
Analysts, required;

· Strong verbal, listening, writing, and data analysis skills,
required;

· Strong leadership skills, required;

· Thorough knowledge of various RDBMS architecture including one of
the following: Oracle, SQL Server;

· Working relationships with top business and technical executives;

· Good communication skills and a solid understanding of business
rules;

· Ability to manage multiple project and multiple teams while
ensuring maximum performance and efficiency.
