UI Engineer
Are you passionate about UI development? At Local Matters,
headquartered in a historic former coffin factory in LoDo, we're
building some of the highest traffic local search sites in the world -
across voice, wireless, and internet channels - and we're looking for
the best and the brightest to grow our team.
We strive to create and maintain best-of-breed web applications, using
state-of-the-art technologies at every level. As one of our UI
Engineers, your work will be seen by millions of users per day, all over
the world.

* Are the best UI engineer that you know
* Are willing to learn and use bleeding-edge web technologies
* Understand the intricacies and insanities of cross-browser
development
* Want to work in a highly challenging and fun environment
* Would enjoy knocking off work at 3pm on Fridays for happy hour
Our team of 12-15 engineers develops in agile 2 week iterative
development cycles, working closely on multiple projects with other team
members to meet aggressive schedules. 10% of each engineer's time is
spent on research and development, including contribution back to
open-source software projects.
Skill set
* 3+ years with core web technologies (HTML, Javascript/DOM, CSS)
* Some experience with prevalent Javascript toolkits/frameworks
* Experience with mixed-markup languages (JSP/JSTL, PHP, ASP)
* Knowledge of web standards principles and practices
* An eye for design and layout
* Ability to work independently from assignment through completion
* Experience with Agile Methodology
* Ability to work with Product Managers, Designers and Information

looking for the best and the brightest to grow our team.

* Are the best problem-solving engineer that you know
* Are willing to learn and use leading-edge technologies
* Want to work in a highly challenging and fun environment
* Would enjoy knocking off work at 3pm on Fridays for happy hour
Our team of 12-15 engineers develops in agile 2 week iterative
development cycles, working closely on multiple projects with other team
members to meet aggressive schedules. In addition to writing code to
directly satisfy business requirements, 10% of each engineer's time is
allocated to research and development, including contribution back to
open-source software projects.
Skills and Background
* 4+ years experience with Java in a commercial environment
* 4+ years experience with web development
* Good working knowledge of a Dependency Injection framework
(Spring preferred)
* Experience with an MVC framework such as Struts or Spring MVC
* Strong communicator
* Search Engine experience a plus (FAST, Lucene, etc)
* Background in online search directories, online advertising, or
yellow pages a plus
