The Lead Data Warehouse Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, maintenance and support of the Corporate Data Warehouse. The developer function includes all phases of data warehousing, including requirements gathering, data warehouse design, logical modeling, data acquisition design, development, testing, and deployment, as well as documentation

Competencies For Success:
Required Skills
College degree in Computer Science; or equivalent experience
Minimum three years working as a technical lead
Minimum five years of experience working in a production Data Warehousing environment as an Informatica ETL developer on an Oracle RDBMS/Unix platform
Minimum five years experience designing and implementing dimensional data models and ETL design utilizing Informatica and PL/SQL programs for production data warehouses in a Unix
Strong proficiency analyzing source data and creating staging designs and dimensional data models
Strong experience with advanced features in the Oracle RDBMS (such as partition management and Materialized Views) and expertise in SQL and PL/SQL programming and SQL performance tuning in a Unix environment
Experience creating Unix shell scripts
Demonstrated understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and practices.
Demonstrated understanding of the functions of a data warehouse in the corporate environment
Demonstrated understanding data warehousing processes, such as dimensional data modeling and data acquisition methodologies, data staging, cleansing, and transformation
Must have ability to work with business users gathering requirements, translating those requirements into a technical solution, creating a dimensional data model design and ETL design, and implementing in a production data warehouse environment for business reporting and analysis
Possess a project oriented approach to data warehouse design and development work
Requires excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage a heavy workload, achieve results while meeting project deadlines with minimal supervision
Must be a team player

Preferred Skills
Experience with First Logic Software for data cleansing
Experience with XML
Experience with PowerDesigner
Experience in Mutual Fund industry
Experience with BI tools (Cognos)

Description:
Position Responsibilities:
On-going database administration * development and production support.
Contribute substantially to the system architecture, and take ownership of the design and development of the data warehouse architecture.
Establish coding standards for PL/SQL, ETL, Java, JDBC, stored procedures, triggers, and logical and physical schema design, and enforce them within the development staff
Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design, and implementation of methodologies to ensure high quality software
Work as member of a DBA team responsible for maintaining database stability
Provide support to Development teams
Assist IT management with administrative policies and procedures related to technical problem resolution and priority management that relates to system support and maintenance.
Recommend to IT management changes to database design to improve process throughput and ensure performance as identified above.
SUN Solaris OS Tuning and Management
EMC SAN Experience
5-7 years previous experience in administering an Oracle Database Data Warehouse
5-7 years experience in a 24x7 HA environment a must
5+ years development skills to create and maintain data architecture to increase the robustness, performance, and scalability
Oracle PL/SQL programming

Additional Skills required
Database performance-tuning skills to record DBMS activity and identify bottlenecks.
Recommend DBMS configuration changes to optimize server performance, implement cache, buffer pool, and configurable memory structure options for DBMS.
SQL performance tuning skills to record query/procedure execution frequency, and execution plans, identify poorly performing queries, guide developer in rewriting SQL to reduce IO and CPU cost and assure index optimization.
Software, patches, and patch set installation skills
Database security skills to design controls and monitoring capabilities for user access.
Working knowledge of Partitioning, Materialized Views, Bitmap Indexes, and Parallel Execution
Experience with database replication to design and implement Oracle replication using trigger-based or event methodology using such tools as export, import, database links, Advanced Replication, Data Guard, or other third party tools.

Position Requirements:
Five years of Oracle data warehouse DBA experience
Experience with Oracle 10g, RAC and ASM
Experience with databases interacting with Informatica PowerCenter*.

Strong communication skills (listening, speaking, writing)
