Job Description:
A Software Test Engineer is part of the test team focused on a new Financial Reporting and Analysis application involving a robust server and client-side functionality. This position involves creating test plans and test cases for new product requirements/features, using manual and automated testing to verify product functionality, monitoring performance and compliance-related results while working within an agile development environment.
Duties:
* Analyze system, features and functionality, and determine the best approach and techniques to test
* Develop and execute tests for acceptance, integration, installation and system testing for personal productivity tools and enterprise-level financial application
* Create and run manual and automated tests
* Participate in Product Design sessions to ensure the test coverage adheres to the product design and meets the end user requirements
* Document test coverage and create test plans and test cases
* Document test results, report software bugs and verify fixes to ensure the acceptance criteria set forth in the test plans is met
* Work closely with the development and program management teams throughout the entire product development life cycle to ensure the product meets user and quality requirements and is shipped on schedule
Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience with C#
* Experience testing .NET Applications
* Experience testing web-based and/or windows applications
* Clarity and precision in written and verbal communication
* Good analytical and problem solving skills
* Ability to define a vision and articulate the steps to get there
* Bachelor degree in Computer science or Accounting (or related discipline)
Competencies:
* Proven ability to quickly grasp new technologies and software applications
* Experience with an accounting or financial software product
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Other Skills:
* Experience with Visual Studio Team System (VSTS)
* Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS)
* Advanced user level of Microsoft Excel and Word
* Experience with Agile development methodology
* Experience in a SaaS (Software as a Service) environment
* Experience with XBRL
* Familiarity with SharePoint and workflow concepts
