DISH Network - Senior Accountant, Senior Staff Accountant, Senior Technical Accountant

As a Senior Accountant, this position will provide accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting services for a variety of Company entities, requiring the application of operational, accounting and financial concepts.



Job Responsibilities:


Set up, create, maintain, and provide end user support of financial and analytical reports using Oracle General Ledger, FSG, ADI, RXi, and Discoverer.
Financial accounting and reporting.
Oracle General Ledger and Chart of Account maintenance and administration.
Organize files and records in an efficient manner.
Has working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures of accounting.
Application of accounting principles to organization's business matters.
Analyzes reports, records and financial data.
Conducts special studies, develops, or recommends enhancements to accounting methods and procedures.
Update SOX process documentation quarterly as required, complete quarterly SPOQ questionnaires as required and perform/monitor required SOX controls as described in Tutor documentation.
Works under general guidance of immediate Supervisor.







Education Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Advanced degree and/or CPA are preferred.
3+ years of related accounting experience is required, preferably in an internal reporting capacity.
5+ years of related financial accounting and reporting experience is strongly preferred, including some public accounting background.





Additional Qualifications:


Experience with financial and analytical report writing software.
Previous experience with Oracle General Ledger, FSG, ADI, RXi, or Discoverer is preferred.
Strong analytical ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships with other departments and personnel.
Ability to organize, set agenda for and conduct meetings.
Strong communication skills, articulate and persuasive in speech; comfortable leading discussions with Senior Management; capable of drafting and organizing substantial documents.
Basic understanding of database operations.
Able to work on tasks that are non-routine in nature and to provide guidance to others.
Demonstrates complex analytical skills.
Ability to recognize internal-control weaknesses.
Demonstrates advanced research skills.

The successful Senior Accountant will provide accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting services for a variety of Company entities, requiring the application of operational, accounting and financial concepts.



Job Responsibilities:
Review financial statements on a monthly basis and produce variance analysis reports for management’s review
Responsible for the corporate accounting of our international entities, including managing the monthly close, quarterly close and annual close for these entities
Review and reconcile general ledger accounts
Develop or modify internal processes and procedures to create efficiencies
Miscellaneous projects when requested
Effectively communicate with team members, managers, and business partners
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance knowledge as it relates to accounting and financial matters
Comply with all company policies and departmental procedures, ensuring honest and ethical conduct at all times



Education Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of related work experience is required
CPA or Big 4 experience desirable



Other Qualifications:


3-5 years experience with General Ledger required
Corporate accounting experience preferred
Intermediate experience with Excel required
Experience with intercompany accounting strongly desired
Experience with Oracle preferred

Job Responsibilities:


Technical accounting research and operational implementation of new transactions, operations, and contracts.
Preparation of related written documentation and memoranda.
Accounting related special projects will be required on an as needed basis.
Participation in the planning and accounting due diligence related to business development projects and other strategic transactions.
Able to research and interpret accounting principles and pronouncements, and recommend application to Company.
Assist with the accurate and timely reporting of all financial reports by working with the SEC reporting group where duties may include GAAP and SEC checklists, document control, cash flow preparation, or assistance with footnotes.



Education Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
CPA license is also required
3 - 5 years of public accounting experience, with significant time devoted to public filers, preferably in the technology or consumer products industries.





Other Qualifications:


Experience must include technical accounting research and related written documentation covering a variety of accounting issues, including but not limited to, stock compensation, leases, foreign currency, and revenue recognition.
Understand and articulate complex accounting guidance.
Desire and demonstrated ability to work independently on project related issues.
Preference to candidates with Merger & Acquisition experience.
Accounting due diligence experience is a plus.
Ability to navigate between opposing goals of vested parties.
Proven written and oral communication skills are also a requirement.
Knowledge of Oracle accounting software is highly desirable.
Candidate should also possess a demonstrated ability to interact with management professionals from a variety of corporate disciplines.
Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships with other departments and personnel.
