Desktop Support Lead

NOPS is a group of 1,900-plus people who provide the day-to-day automation services necessary to support Kaiser Permanents many medical groups, business partners and millions of members. With 6,000 servers, NOPS is one of the largest Oracle shared database projects in the world. There are about 2,000 changes a month to our applications, systems and networks, so meeting commitments is a big piece of the challenge. In addition, with so many disparate applications, platforms and code differentials, we are always striving to reduce the complexity of our distributed environment through automation. As in the practice of medicine, the data center of Kaiser Permanente never stops.

As a Desktop Support Lead, you will participate in the design of detail standards and templates, Mentor Seniors/Staff, recommend appropriate formal and informal training for lower level staff, and define deployable technical detail processes. Reviews instructions/configuration documentation for compliance to standards. Provide Level 2 technical and problem-solving support to all users in assigned Colorado regional facilities. Areas of support include desktop hardware and operating environments, printers, network operating systems and end-user software applications. You will also coordinate and install end-user hardware in conjunction with analysts and vendors; maintain data cabling and custom patching in wiring closets; respond to help desk calls and/or Remedy cases; determine problems and coordinate solutions; and follow-up with user/IT Support Services. Additionally, you will document and log all activities; update inventories, control logs and tasks lists; stay abreast of networking technology; and manage customer relations. You need two years of post-secondary technical training (or equivalent work experience) with generally 8+ years of professional experience. You must also have proven experience installing and troubleshooting desktop devices and end-user applications; Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification in Windows 2000 or XP, a plus; and excellent time management, leadership, oral communication and analysis skills. As a lead, you will instruct, guide and oversee work of lower-level technical professionals.

You must also be able to work independently and effectively with other functional areas. Additionally, this position requires travel between sites in the Colorado area, so you must have a valid drivers license. You must also be able to move throughout the Medical Facilities to troubleshoot problems and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis; and be available for on-call duty after regular working hours (including weekends).

Regional Technical Clarity Lead

The Regional Technical Clarity Lead will provide Clarity Environment support and coordination, Coordinate/Test Clarity Releases and changes (includes review of Release notes and testing technical changes), Review/update/create/recommend Clarity Reporting solutions for more efficient reporting (including Views/Data Extracts, reviewing current region solutions and making improvement recommendations, analyze/review solutions from other regions to see if they can be leveraged), Coordinate Clarity Upgrades, Research and Resolve Clarity data quality issues and mitigate overall regional risk on issues (including tracking issues, helping drive to root cause, coordinating with regional/national teams and Epic), Provide Production Support (including running and matching daily/monthly TDL stats, verifying daily ETL meets SLA and address issues if not, attending daily ETL and ongoing Environment meetings, create and track Remedy tickets to help resolve regional issues), Coordinate Training sessions and brown bag lunch sessions, and Participate in Regional Forums, Perform CO Clarity Audit (including analyzing data from Teradata access logs to determine use of group IDs and reviewing defined audit steps), Lead involvement in regional IT Clarity SOX efforts.

The ideal candidate must have analytical ability, problem analysis techniques, ability to drive to solutions, awareness of BI tools (i.e., Crystal Reports/Enterprise, Business Objects, Cognos, SAS), awareness of Teradata and/or Oracle databases (helpful to have experience with these). The candidate should have excellent communication skills as well as demonstrated ability to work with end users to communicate changes, follow up on open tickets, understand potential impacts and require minimal supervision. Knowledge and experience in EPIC, Clarity and healthcare is a distinct plus.
Must have three to five years experience leading projects preferably in a Data Warehousing or Data Repository environment, Team Management experience; Project Management experience; Negotiating skills; Experience preparing presentations for senior mgt, financial, technical and business uses. Nice to have: SAS, Cognos, MS Access, Paradox, Epic Software - Resolute, Tapestry, Cadence, Radiant, ADT, Prelude, Clarity ETL, Clarity Reporting, relational database experience (Teradata, Oracle, Sybase, MS-SQL Server), MS Office suite (including MS Project, Visio), Technical Systems and applications upgrade/migration experience. Candidate must be self-motivated; Demonstrated ability to take initiative; Proven ability to see the overall plan and make recommendations to mgt; Ability to think outside the box; Very attentive to detail and able to work with the limits of mandated controls; Strong proven communication skills communicating technical information to non-technical and technical personnel; Proven problem analysis, root cause determination and coordination of resolution; Proven ability to work with multiple distributed and matrixed teams, leadership; Proven skills documentation such as requirements, analysis, design, user guides; Ability to work in a diverse work environment; Ability to quickly pickup and understand new ideas, technologies and systems and utilize that knowledge. Excellent written and verbal skills are essential for the successful candidate.

JOB SUMMARY: Gathers business reporting requirements, develops and automates business reports from various applications; develops, maintains and administers databases; and provides application support and end-user training and support. Develops and utilizes data quality techniques to assure data quality and consistency. Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. POSITION REQUIRMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business administration, information technology, health care or other related area. Four years of progressive experience with data normalization, SQL and QBE.
Demonstrated aptitude in the use of MS Access focusing on database maintenance, query/macro and forms/report design.
Programming experience helpful. Experience with other databases such as DB2 or Oracle and reporting tools such as SAS or Business Objects required. Knowledge of relational databases and their structure, forms and reports.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated aptitude for learning new software, good communication skills, ability to problem solve and multitask, be able to work independently and have good customer service skills.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates data extracts and reports including ad hoc reports for management to be used for analysis, trending and forecasting. develops or uses multiple approaches to achieve desired outcomes, particularly for more complex requests.
Develops and coordinates the creation of information databases to promote the sharing of information with users inside as well as outside the department.
Automation of reporting processes.
Maintains information databases and data collection and reporting modules.
Analyzes business requirements and recommends technical solution to customer requests.
Designs, develops and implements new and improved processes and tools to support business user requirements
Troubleshoots QA auditing tools, supports Excel and Access business users and recommends solutions.
Develops and maintains system and end user documentation, including job scheduling
Serves as a link between the business user and KPIT
Provides end-user support and training.
Performs other duties as assigned.
