Responsibilities:
** Own the design/configuration of the Business Object Universes, Reports (both WebI and DeskI), and all aspects of CMC configuration.
** Control all assets of the applications.
** Regular interaction with cross-functional teams both internal and external to the company so a demonstrated ability to interface successfully is very important, both written and verbally.
** Work closely with Business Analysts to understand and document business needs for Business Intelligence data as well as intimately understanding the sources of this data..including it's RDBMS structure and metadata.
** Develop and maintain integrated solutions including code assets, configuration assets, testing assets, and deployment assets.
** Develop and maintain custom solutions.
** Develop interfaces and customizations to existing custom and purchased applications.
** Develop and maintain installation, testing and rollback procedures.
** Work with other team members to ensure application conforms to general system and software architecture.
** Work with Product Managers to ensure the technical solution delivers business value.
** Work with Quality Assurance to ensure application meets all requirements.
** Debug Java Front End application with other integrated solutions.
** Participate in code review and code standards process.
Minimum Qualifications:
** BS in Computer Science or related field or relevant experience.
** 3+ years hands-on experience with implementing BI solutions within at least BusinessObjects Version 6 systems
** Demonstrated abilities to offer solutions effectively with database engineers, unix system engineers, ETL designers and other team members
** Excellent skills and extensive experience with BusinessObjects applications including Universe Designer, Reporting (WebI, DeskI), BCA/Scheduler, and CMC/Supervisor
** Excellent skills and extensive experience with BusinessObjects solutions such as merged dimensions, derived tables, linked universes, hyperlink/drill across environments, object heirarchies, complex universe objects,
** Excellent communication and congnitive skills allowing the ability to analyzing reporting requirements, resolve misunderstandings and disputes, understand complex database schemas, and formulate reporting solutions effectively and efficiently
** Ability to rapidly merge operational databases with ad-hoc queryable Business Objects universes.
** Must be familiar with Oracle (9i and/or 10g) relational database systems including database design principles and Advanced SQL.
** The ability to create and fine tune database objects including tables, indexes, procedures, etc.
** Ability to assume significant responsibility and execute autonomously on projects.
** Excellent skills with Oracle tools and methodologies to diagnose database performance issues, create reporting index strategies and improve database designs based on SQL execution.
** Oracle database V9 or 10 advanced SQL experience, excellent RDBMS/SQL skills, the ability to provide efficient solutions in complex schemas
