Travelport is seeking a Full time Java Technical Team Lead!
Responsibilities include:
•Contribute to design, development, documentation, creation of unit tests, review test plans and database modifications.
•Responsibility for the quality of deliverables of a combined onshore/offshore team.
•Ability to multi-task and manage multiple, concurrent development streams.
•Provide consultation for new products or new enhancements; research and analyze impact.
•Provide functional design and technical consultation.
•Advocate for customer community by understanding customer requirements to ensure existing and delivered products result in high user satisfaction.
•Support and provide input as part of the project team during the design, development, and deployment phases of the project.
•Involvement in determining how product will be maintained to include identification of tools needed and who will be responsible for maintenance and support.
•Create and review reports, maintain and distribute timely documentation as required.
•Analyze, research and provide system enhancement recommendations for customer inquiries post-project implementation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong understanding of database principles and communication protocols.
Experience with web services development (strong XML/WSDL/XSL knowledge).
Experience with ORM tools (Hibernate preferred).
Experience with Spring framework required.
1-3 years of experience in supporting commercial, production system.
Detailed knowledge of test automation tools/techniques and defect tracking tools..
Agile Development utilization experience preferred.
Strong planning skills and understanding of delegation management principles.
Ability to retain a professional and logical approach to tasks under challenging or time constrained situations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven analytical skills.
Solid research and organization skills.
Attention to detail, persistence and follow-through a must.
Ability to implement detailed instructions.
Organized and proactive with a "can do" attitude.
Innovative, flexible and pragmatic.
Possess poise, initiative, commitment, vision, creativity and persistence.
Experience with these technologies and frameworks: Java EE, Hibernate, Spring, Apache, JBoss, SOAP, XML
Experience preferred with DB2.
Travel industry domain experience preferred
At least 7 years Java development and leadership experience
B.S. degree in relevant field

• A minimum of 2 years enterprise java coding experience

• Experience using
o JEE Application Server experience (JBoss preferred)
o Linux and scripting
o Hibernate or another ORM technology
o Spring
o SQL
o XML/SOAP
o a Source management system
o an IDE like Eclipse
* Experience working in an Agile environment a plus
• Be an excellent team player!
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be independent and self-motivated, with a knack for taking the initiative and overcoming obstacles
• Be able to quickly master and apply new technologies
