Health Language - Technical Consultant

Health Language, Inc.(r) (HLI) develops and delivers state-of-the-art
software solutions that automatically incorporate medical vocabulary and
coding standards into healthcare information technology (HCIT)
applications. HLI's Language Engine(r) (LE(r)) allows centralized
access to medical terminology standards and generates mappings to create
a common pool of standardized codes and concepts that enhance patient
safety, facilitate clinical outcomes analysis and accelerate
reimbursement.



HLI partners with global leaders in Healthcare IT including integrators,
vendors, RHIOs and large healthcare institutions in payer and provider
markets, clinical content providers, and national governments. Health
Language is headquartered in Denver, CO and also has an office in Leeds,
UK.




POSITION TITLE: Technical Consultant (HLI Language Engine)




The Health Language Professional Services and Client Support group is
looking for additional members to add to the Denver office. This role
reports to the Sr. Project Manager within Professional Services. HLI is
seeking a highly qualified Technical Consultant to add to Professional
Services consulting team working with clients and colleagues. The
Technical Consultant role requires a combination of business, technical,
and client relationship skills and experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualified candidates must bring a consultative approach to identifying
and solving customer needs. This is a very hands-on position in the
delivery of professional services, customer support, software
implementation, and client relationship management. It is important
this individual have a good balance of client management, technical
expertise, leadership skills, creative problem-solving and diligent
issue and task list management. This individual must be able to work
independently as well as within a team that includes clinical, technical
and sales colleagues.


Responsibilities:


* Provide product and services support to enterprise customers
and partners assisting them to implement and support solutions based on
the Health Language technologies.

* Serve as the Health Language technical point of contact
throughout the product deployment lifecycle - advising and consulting
customer's organizational contacts on use and operations of HLI services
and products.

* Evaluate needs and capabilities of prospective and current
clients; participate in developing recommendations and proposal for the
solutions and services required; deliver agreed services, and manage
client expectations throughout the engagement.

* Supports the installation subsequent training of new clients
in the administration and use of the HLI Language Engine software,
including use of web services, APIs and other access techniques.

* Provide consultative expertise to clients in the development
of customized web services; setup of various elements of the overall
solution; testing and QA prior to putting software into productive use.

* Define and manage delivery to agreed scope of services for
each project engagement.

* Provide comprehensive client support including: resolution of
product issues, and content management updates.

* Proactively interact with customers to identify service issues
and business opportunities.

* Deliver support to ensure client satisfaction, ongoing growth
of client relationships, and identification of new service
opportunities.

* Collect input from clients about added value product
enhancements and convey information to product development.

* Ensure client issues are tracked, controlled and resolved in a
timely manner, including problem recognition, research, isolation,
resolution, and follow-up steps.

* Support development and implementation of business processes
including project management, service delivery, technical support,
content support, QA, testing, content management, and knowledge
management processes.

* Develop, document, and share API expertise.

* Develop and document client applications and sample code.

* Contribute to HLI knowledge warehouse (FAQs, documentation,
sample code, scripts).

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS


Required Education/Experience:


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Computer Engineering, or commensurate experience.

* 1-3+ years IT experience, preferably in a healthcare
environment and in a client facing role.

* Solid business communication skills and an exceptional
customer-service attitude.

* Solid multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills with
significant attention to detail and follow-through.

* 'Can Do', flexible attitude with a willingness to learn new
things.

* Ability to travel up to 50%.


Required Technical Skills:


* Working knowledge of software development life-cycle process.

* Working experience administering Windows, Solaris UNIX, and/or
Red Hat Linux systems.

* Entry level software development experience using Java, C++.

* Experience working with Web Services and/or APIs


Desired Experience:


* Gathering requirements, identifying client needs, and writing
use cases; strong documentation skills.

* Experience working in entrepreneurial, dynamic environment.

* End-User technical trainer experience for complex software
packages.

* Medical Informatics experience or exposure to use of
healthcare terminologies (SNOMED CT, CPT-4, ICD-x, HCPCS, APC, LOINC,
RxNorm, Multum, Medi-Span, FDB, etc.).

* Intermediate relational database access skills, RDBMS
modeling.

* Experience in consulting service delivery across
multi-national settings.
