The SQL Database Administrator will manage and maintain all database
systems in production, QA and test/dev, manage and maintain backups of
the databases, and performance tune all SQL code and stored procedures.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for pro-actively managing and monitoring the
Production Database environment

2. Recommend and define performance optimizations for databases,
stored procedures, SQL Statements and views.
3. Responsible for extensive application, operating system and
database monitoring, tuning and management
4. Responsible for troubleshooting and recommending solutions
related to blocking and locking issues
5. Responsible for ensuring that all QA, Development, Migration and
Production database environments are synchronized.
6. Responsible for recommending optimal index creation, storage
allocations, and partitioning strategies.
7. Responsible for documenting the database infrastructure
including database schemas.
8. Responsible for creating and maintaining application stored
procedures and SQL.
9. Responsible for managing and implementing integration services
packages
10. Responsible for managing and implementing reporting services
reports

Non-essential Duties and Responsibilities:



1. Design, develop and maintain Data Model for databases

2. Develop and maintain SQL coding standards for databases and
database objects (i.e., Tables, Triggers, Views, Stored Procedures,
Functions, etc.)
3. Design, develop and maintain development databases and database
objects
4. Evaluate and implement SQL Server version features and
High-Availability features as required by development requirements
5. Performance tune databases and database objects
6. Perform database code reviews with respect to 1) Data Modeling
requirements, 2) SQL coding standards and 3) performance tuning
requirements
7. Understand how applications and databases interact for optimum
database design and development
8. Design & develop SQL server integration services packages
9. Design & develop SQL server reporting services packages

Qualifications:



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



Education/Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer
engineering, engineering, science or equivalent degree.

2. 3 to 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.

3. Experience with SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 and 2008 R2.

4. Excellent knowledge of database administration, programming and
systems analysis procedures.

5. Experience with maintaining high availability systems in a web
based environment.

6. Experience with mirroring, log-shipping, partitioning,
replication, and clustering.

7. Expert in T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers.

8. Ability to interact with senior developers at a code level.

9. Logical and physical data modeling.

10. Excellent problem solving and communications skills.
