TITLE: IT Support Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Information Technology Manager
Salary Range: $40,000-50,000 based upon experience (Exempt)

Organization Summary:
The Mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver (BGCMD) is to inspire and enable young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Seventeen program delivery sites and a Program Support Center provide after-school, weekend, intervention and summer programs for young people between the ages of 6 –18 years old.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Manage all IT systems, including Windows Servers and Clients, LAN, WAN, WIFI, and related systems.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
* Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
* Perform and coordinate effective installation and performance of advanced operating system hardware and software on servers.
* Install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software related problems.
* Support and maintain end user requirements, including troubleshooting, account maintenance, and training.
* Plan and perform appropriate procedures, documentation, inventory assessment, and other procedures related to IT.
* Maintain, monitor, analyze system components and make recommendations regarding computer system security, monitor network, computer, and disk utilization.
* Maintain IT disaster recovery plan.
* Inventory and provide accounting for BGCMD resources including software, server, workstation, and laptop systems.
* Conduct software and hardware evaluations, provide technical analysis, and implement systems to meet the organization's IT goals.
* Maintain strategic IT plan to meet the requirements of BGCMD's overall growth plan to be reviewed on a regular basis with Management, and adjust as necessary.
* Automate management tasks, streamline processes, and perform standard administration functions as needed.
* Manage the IT system to meet strategic goals. Obtain and/or maintain technical certifications necessary for continued BGCMD growth and success.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
* Maintain professionalism, good attitude, and appropriate behavior with BGCMD personnel, members, donors, and volunteers.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Skills/Knowledge:
* Windows Server 2003 and 2008, especially Active Directory and Group Policy
* Windows XP and Windows 7
* Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
* Experience with operating system imaging technology (Drive Imaging).
* Self-starter that requires minimal supervision, and can provide oversight for any assigned projects
* Thorough knowledge of good server and system administration principles
* Working experience with Anti-Spam technologies
* Working experience with Backup solutions
* Development of IT Policies and Procedures
* Monitoring IT infrastructure use and providing accountability * Ability to problem solve

Education:
* BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
*MCSA / MCSE certified preferred

Experience:
* 4+ years experience with Microsoft Windows Administration, with 3+ years in a Windows 2000/2003 environment supporting 40+ users, experience with Group Policies: Software, Security, Login, and logout functions, support of remote users via VPN technologies
* Experience maintaining systems including Intel based servers and NAS technologies.
* Maximize system availability, and performance through fault-tolerant configuration, efficient network architecture, and proactive server monitoring.
* Outstanding customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal, and written communications skills.
* Demonstrated ability to be a team player, and a willingness to lend a hand with any project

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The successful candidate must be able to use a variety of office equipment including computer, telephone, and / or other equipment. S/he may be required to lift supplies, materials, and collateral materials weighing up to 35 pounds. Much of the work time is spent in an office setting or at one the 17 site locations. Limited out of town travel is required. Travel between the 17 site locations is often.
