TopSchool - Junior QA Engineer

TopSchool, a venture-backed startup entering its emerging growth stage, is revolutionizing higher-education with the first Cloud-computing solution for Student Lifecycle Management (SLM). The TopSchool SLM Suite is architected using leading .NET/C# and SQL Server technologies.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The QA Engineer will work with a small distributed QA team that has full responsibility for testing all software applications for our CRM, Student Information System, Portal, and Reporting suite. You will work with product management, developers and professional services to understand requirements and development issues, and translate these requirements into effective test plans and cases.

You will need:
• QA and SDLC methodology including Agile methods are important
• Experience testing ERP systems with a focus on financial or CRM features
• Programming background, preferably with .NET

Reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance, the QA Engineer ensures that TopSchool's products successfully meet quality and schedule commitments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, execute, analyze, and maintain test plans, test cases and test scripts implementing proven quality assurance practices pertaining to software testing
• Utilize automated software test tools as available
• Work closely with software and quality assurance engineers, product support and customer support personnel in the resolution of any assigned task
• Assess and estimates test requirements based on use case or other requirement documentation
• Generate test reports including results of testing and product stability, including recommendations concerning release of product
• Provide daily status reports
• Effectively participate in project meetings, clearly articulating project risk and provide concise recommendations to development and product management

REQUIREMENTS:
• 1+ years in a quality assurance role with enterprise level software
• 1+ years' experience with an ERP or other transactional business application – a focus on finance is desirable
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Understanding of .NET or other object oriented programming
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Understanding of Visual Studio and Test Manager
• Understanding of SQL Statement and Relational Databases
• Understanding of the Education Industry primarily post-secondary education

EDUCATION:
• A four year degree in Computer Science or related field is highly preferred.
