Job Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for designing, developing/refactoring, and scripting deployment for reports using PL/SQL and a variety of development tools (PL/SQL Developer, Toad, Golden 32). In addition, this position will be responsible for design, development, and deployment code for custom database applications, as well as light application DBA work (DDL execution, Role scripting, Permissions scripting, data loads, performance tuning). This position will also be responsible for post- deployment support, troubleshooting, and rework as indicated.
Experience/Skills Required
A qualified applicant will have 5 years PL/SQL development experience using Oracle versions 9.x, 10.x, 11.x, and some RAC/OPS exposure, in both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments. In addition, Database Administration experience of one (1) or more years. Both PC and Unix skills are required, as well as familiarity with database modeling, monitoring, and development tools.

The consumer broadband service delivers affordable two-way Internet access via satellite to virtually any home or small business, especially the estimated 11.5 million homes not connected to wired networks, such as DSL, cable, and fiber.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the support of mission critical back office applications whose main focus is Problem Management and proactive application monitoring.
Help resolve the root cause of errors and to find permanent solutions.
Help create application monitoring solutions to ensure that the applications are running well and tuned for performance.
Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve technical problems.
Develop expert understanding of technical and business process flow for frontend web applications and backend services and provide recommendations for improvement.Investigate and resolve complex application issues and their underlying systems.
Provide central communications during incidents and facilitate resolution efforts with IT, product development teams or others as appropriate.
Complete post- resolution analysis and reporting for all incidents.
Ensure that internal customers receive efficient and timely responses, updates, and resolutions of issues
Assist in the development of documentation related to Customer Support team procedures
Actively seeks to empower NOC personnel to perform routine application systems support through the development of comprehensive ‘Method and Procedure’ Documents
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule which includes carrying a cell phone and providing 24x7 support, when necessary
Adhere to company policies and standards
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Experience/Skills Required
3+ years experience on Java based enterprise critical business applications as an IT system administrator, system engineer, application developer, application support analyst, or system analyst is required.
Knowledge of some server side Unix scripting preferred (e.g. Perl, Python, shell scripting).
Experience with SQL and Oracle databases preferred.
Knowledge of Oracle 11g SOA application stack desirable.
Basic competency working in a n-tier software environment.
Industry experience with Billing and ISP Provisioning systems desirable.
Familiarity with enterprise application monitoring systems desirable.
Requires professional verbal communication skills, written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, and teamwork ability.
Maintains composure in sustained pressure situations with the ability to think quickly.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
