We are seeking a Senior IT Engineer that will be responsible for the delivery and support of all aspects of the IT Infrastructure to support MDC Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
Responsibilities include the design, installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrades, and senior level support of the Microsoft & VMware infrastructure components.
The position is expected to bring expert level knowledge to the team on a diverse range of topics. While working as part of a team, the position is expected to be able to independently design and implement complex infrastructure services.
Duties:
Recommend, design, install and configure all infrastructure components including servers, SAN, virtualization, operating systems, and layered software supporting development, testing, and production environments.
Support the following vendors/technologies in use: HP BL&DL Servers, Compellent, DataDomain, CommVault, Microsoft, Oracle, System Center, VMware, Exchange, OCS, SQL Server, Load Balancing, Clustering, RIM/Blackberry, Citrix
Create and implement designs that maximize operational uptime and minimize risk.
Monitoring of infrastructure and application performance with native and 3rd party tools.
Assist in operational support, upgrades, and code releases of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (ERP) and other business applications.
Act as subject matter expert on team for Exchange, Active Directory, VMware, SQL Server, and enterprise storage.
Participate in on-call rotation for operations team.
Team leadership & technical mentoring.
Requirements
Desired Skills:
5+ years of operational experience in the enterprise data center.
Experience with design/install/configure/maintain/monitor of the following technologies in 1000+ user environments:
Core Microsoft Infrastructure Components including but not limited to:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 – 2008 R2
Active Directory
DNS & DHCP
Microsoft Fail-over clustering
Exchange 2010
File & Print Services
SQL Server 2000 – 2008
Sharepoint
Office Communicator
Experience with designs for high availability
Application servers: IIS 6-7.5, Oracle Application Server & WebLogic
Operational support of middleware technologies including BPEL, SOA & Service Bus
VMware vSphere
Fibre Channel and iSCSI SAN support
RPM-based Linux experience a plus
System automation techniques & scripting abilities, especially PowerShell
Ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills to technical and non-technical contacts.
Self-starter
Less than 5% travel.
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley
