OppenheimerFunds - Senior Oracle DBA

We seek a Senior Oracle DBA to support our production and development environments, tune new and existing systems and work as a part of a team developing world-class Oracle applications.

Principal Responsibilites May Include:

§ Production support of databases that support the enterprise. Production on-call rotation is required

§ Ongoing and proactive performance tuning of existing and new database applications. Recommend DBMS configuration changes to optimize server performance, implement cache, buffer pool, and configurable memory structure options for DBMS

§ Working collaboratively with agile development teams to tune the Oracle database as a part of the entire application stack.

§ Contribute substantially to the system architecture, and take ownership of the design and development of new Oracle database environments

§ Establish coding standards for PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and logical and physical schema design, and enforce them within the development staff

§ Work as member of a DBA team responsible for maintaining database stability

§ Provide support to Development teams

§ Assist IT management with administrative policies and procedures related to technical problem resolution and priority management that relates to system support and maintenance

§ Recommend to IT management changes to database design to improve process throughput and ensure performance as identified above



Competencies for Success:

§ 5+ years experience and demonstrated working knowledge and skills in Oracle database technologies

§ Experience with Oracle 10g, RAC and ASM

§ Proven Oracle performance tuning expertise.

§ Intermediate to advanced experience and skills in developing applications using:

§ Oracle PL/SQL

§ Cognos and/or reporting tools experience a plus

§ Prior development support

§ Experience with databases interacting with Informatica PowerCenter™ a plus

§ Experience with UNIX scripting

§ Capacity planning experience

§ Strong communication skills (listening, speaking, writing)

§ Software, patches, and patch set installation skills

§ Database security skills to design controls and monitoring capabilities for user access

§ Working knowledge of Partitioning, Materialized Views, Bitmap Indexes, and Parallel Execution

§ Experience with database replication to design and implement Oracle replication using trigger-based or event methodology using such tools as export, import, database links, Advanced Replication, Data Guard, or other third party tools
