help us continue ITT VIS leadership in the area of application
development and remote sensing. The Technical Sales Application Engineer
combines technical knowledge with sales skills. Utilize your technical
expertise to provide ongoing support to assigned prospects and customers
while assisting other account managers in the same capacity.
Responsibilities include product presentations to current and potential
customers; application prototyping; whitepapers, in-depth technical
product assistance; and creative problem-solving to provide exceptional
technical support. In addition, the qualified candidate cultivates and
closes sales opportunities within a defined region. This unique position
requires an individual who can effectively manage a demanding schedule
among a wide variety of technical and sales goals that include inbound
and outbound sales call and call planning. This position may require
travel up to 30% of the time.
Required Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
* Ability to identify, qualify and solve difficult technical
pre-sales support problems
* Proficiency in ENVI and IDL and/or competitive products and
their supported computer environments and platforms
* Ability and interest in providing proactive and reactive
customer support across a diversified customer set, including but not
limited to Defense and Intelligence, GIS, Environmental, and Medical
* Ability to deliver introductory level training
classes/seminars for IDL and ENVI
* Working knowledge of at least one modern programming language,
e.g., C, C++ Python or Java
* Up to 3 years of technical product support experience
* Ability and interest to learn new technologies rapidly
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written
communication skills
* Ability to manage, prioritize, plan and organize multiple
concurrent tasks
* Knowledge of remote sensing, GIS, and/or image processing
* Bachelor's Degree or more advanced degree in Computer Science,
Mathematics or Science, or other technically-related experience
